I heard that Brandon Phillips has a brother that also plays baseball. I was wondering if he did and if so what team if any he plays or played for.

It seems to have come down to three candidates (maybe four) Ryan Howard, Carlos Beltran, Albert Puljols, and I have heard people even mention Jose Reyes.

The team in first place traded away Jeff Kent, Curt Schilling and Carlos Zambrano and in return they got back Chris Capuano, Dontrelle Willis and Michael Cuddyer.

The team in 2nd place had cut the lead from 500 points to under 140 points in the last month or so.

Do you think this trade is SOOOO lopsided it demands to be vetoed?

I want to pick up Seth McClung as an extra reliever for the playoffs. Right now, my relievers are Todd Jones and Mariano Rivera. Obviously, I don't want to drop either of them. I do want to drop one of my starters, though...which one: Cole Hamels, Jered Weaver, Nate Robertson, Dan Haren, Aaron Harang, Matt Cain, Ian Snell, Chad Billingsley, or Ben Sheets? I want to drop Billingsley because he's injured, but I don't want to regret it if he comes back and dominates. Maybe Harang would be my second choice, and Robertson third. Give me your opinions and ideas. Give me real, detailed answers. Length doesn't matter to get the ten points; just give me your choice and WHY.

I just saw that a Marlins pitcher just threw a no hitter..and it got me to thinking..since walks dont' count..would it be worth it to just walk the other 8 guys every at bat to get to the pitcher..then get him out..3 times around per inning..each inning till you throw the no hitter...now because of the 24 walks per inning it would result in 21 runs per inning..3 would be left on base..times 9 innings is 189 runs..would you give up 189 runs to throw a no hitter?

Aspirin to relieve a headache? What about a cortisone shot? Cortisone is a steroid. (Hmmm, maybe Kirk Gibson ought to give back that 1988 HR, huh?) What about the steroids that asthmatics regularly take? Illegal amphetamines that players have acknowledged taking for decades? What about contact lenses or modern eye surgey which can improve eyesight to the point of being BETTER than 20/20?

Are "steroids" really performance enhancers? If that were the case, then how come most of the players caught suck? If they enhanced performance... wouldn't they be all-stars?

OR, are they recovery enhancers... which allow someone to recover from muscle stress more quickly?

OR are they work out enhancers? Since you recover more quickly you can work out more often.

Steroids do not BUILD muscle... you can't just inject steroids and become muscle bound.

So, take all you want... you STILL have to do the actual work to get better. They won't do it for you.

Does any of this matter?
