There was never a player named John McGinty that played in MLB thou he may have player in another league. there is a player by the name of Joe McGinnity who played and is in the HOF http://www.baseball-reference.com/m/mcginjo01.shtml is information on this player. if you spelled John's last name wrong maybe you could search this site for him. http://www.baseball-reference.com/

As noted above, there has been no major league or recent minor league player by that name. For similar names I've found a John McGuiness, John McGillen, Jim McGinley, and Joe McGinnity - try looking them up on baseball-reference.com to see if any of them are who you're thinking of.

I think the name you are looking for is Iron Joe McGinty. Played in the 1800's and I'm pretty sure he's in the HOF.

no.....i dont think he ever played you should check on the neam because I looked him up on baseball-reference.com and on yahoo! and no1 ever came up....sorry
