i just watched Izzy blow his 10th save. The Cardinals make a comeback in the top of the ninth and then lose because of him. I think Wainright could do it but he is a rookie and that's a lot of pressure. who do you like?

ALLIANCE, Neb. - Talk about extra innings. A baseball game that began at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Alliance ended Sunday at 4:05 p.m.

That's 30 hours and five minutes between the first pitch and the final out. Game organizers are counting on the contest being long enough to break a world record.

Forty players, ranging in age from 18 to 44, rotated in and out of the 84-inning game in hopes of setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest baseball game.

The record stands at 25 hours, set in Canada nearly three years ago.

Alliance organizers tried for a record last year, but their 24-hour, 16-minute game fell short of the record by 44 minutes.

Far from a pitcher's duel, this year's game was won by the Alliance Times-Herald Dragons, which beat the WESTCO Knights, by a score of 120 to 114.

30 hours to play a game? World record or not, do they suck that badly?

I caught a baseball about 10 years ago at a world series game. I have caught many others since then. Now I am not sure which one is the one from the world series game. I would like to give it to someone as a gift but I want to make sure I have the right ball.

In other words, at the end of a season or looking at the last 10 or 20 years, what score occurs most frequently? Is it 1 to 0 in baseball, for example? Or, 10 to 7, in football?

Wait - please do not respond "the season is not over yet and the teams are not determined". Teams get permission from MLB to sell tickets ahead of time - for example I know the Tigers playoff tickets go on sale 9/19/2006. How about the other teams? Thanks!!

You people crack me up...

Ken Caminitti admitted use. Jose Canseco admitted use. Mark McGwire had the "legal juice" IN his locker. Sammy Sosa was CAUGHT with a corked bat. Palmiero failed a test.

Yet nobody wants to strip any of these players of their MVP awards, their World Series titles, RBI crowns, rookie of the year awards, etc.

Bonds has not admitted to using to anything, has not failed a test. Hell he hasn't even shown the alleged "signs of 'roid rage" like Roger Clemens or Kenny Rogers has.

Yes, people want to take away Barry's numbers only. Why is that?

Is it just because Barry's a jerk?
Because he is so amazingly naturally gifted that you feel hurt if he did cheat?
Because you have heard Jim Rome or other obnoxious runts on the radio do your thinking for you?
Is it really because he "took illegal drugs"? (IF that is the case, will you boycott Snoop Dogg or John Lennon? Will you stop watching Chris Farley movies or Aaron Sorkin's TV shows?)

While playing slow pitch softball, I bat right and can only seem to hit the ball (pull it) between 2nd and 3rd base, and normally only right down the 3rd base line. What's the trick to hitting it to the opposite field (between 1st and 2nd, which would be a push hit)? I would like to be able to hit the opposite field at will, or at least hit the gap between the shortstop and second baseman.
