You people crack me up...

Ken Caminitti admitted use. Jose Canseco admitted use. Mark McGwire had the "legal juice" IN his locker. Sammy Sosa was CAUGHT with a corked bat. Palmiero failed a test.

Yet nobody wants to strip any of these players of their MVP awards, their World Series titles, RBI crowns, rookie of the year awards, etc.

Bonds has not admitted to using to anything, has not failed a test. Hell he hasn't even shown the alleged "signs of 'roid rage" like Roger Clemens or Kenny Rogers has.

Yes, people want to take away Barry's numbers only. Why is that?

Is it just because Barry's a jerk?
Because he is so amazingly naturally gifted that you feel hurt if he did cheat?
Because you have heard Jim Rome or other obnoxious runts on the radio do your thinking for you?
Is it really because he "took illegal drugs"? (IF that is the case, will you boycott Snoop Dogg or John Lennon? Will you stop watching Chris Farley movies or Aaron Sorkin's TV shows?)

No, he shouldn't be alone. He is just a bigger target because he's chasing and very close to breaking the biggest record in baseball and because he's such a jerk.

I don't know why him and other super stars like him took steroids. To me, and I know I'm not in their shoes, I would have to be a borderline major league player to ever consider taking them and even then I would be too concerned about the long term affects.

Well lets start with the fact that Bonds DID admit to using steroids. His claim is he didn't know steroids were in the creme he was using. The fact that a guy is sitting in jail rather than testify against Bonds. If Bonds was innocent wouldn't he just say so and avoid jail?

Then lets look at that time frame. Bonds went from a career best of 46 HRs many years before to hitting 72 out of nowhere. HR totals before he juiced.
37
33
42
40
37
34
Then the juice days
49 - career best at age 36
73 - Almost twice career best at age 37
46 - and you get the picture.
At an age when most players are retiring Bonds is having his best years. The same Bonds who looked like he was starting to decline the few years before steroid usage. The same time there are records of his steroid usage he suddenly has his best years. Then when the contraversy breaks, his connection arrested his numbers decline dramatically. Even losing a season to injury he's having a pretty bad year relitive to what he did just a few years ago.

Bonds is a gifted athlete. If he'd never touched steroids he'd been an instant first ballot HOFer. Like McGwire Bonds did not need steroids. It has ruined both of thier reps now, tainted the records and when it comes time for HOF balloting both may be banned by then. Bonds might even wind up doing a little jail time for lieing under oath. I think that is the big reason the Feds are hot on Bonds right now. The others who testified except Palmiero and Sheffield admited usage. All were named by people who saw them using steroids or knew of thier usage. Turns out both Palmiero and Sheffield DID use steroids after all. I think we can be pretty certain Bonds is yet another steroid baby. I also think we are going to find out it was going on longer than we thought and that some HOFers used steroids.

Next I believe McGwire, Caminetti, ESPECIALLY Sosa who got caught with a corked bat TWICE that I know of as well as steroids use and rumors of HGF. I think they should all be banned from the Hall and stripped of titles and records.

The testing is a joke. They are warned of it well in advance and can stop using before the season starts and still have the benifits. Though I think anybody in the top 10 of any major stat should be tested every week. This would elimanate quite a bit of guessing and help keep things clean during the season. During the offseason is harder to do. Though spot checks in the off season would be a good idea.

Have never seen any indication of Clemens using steroids. He's naturally combatitive. Having a bad temper doesn't make you a steroids user. Do a search on an interview with Pettite reguarding Clemens about the extreme workout that Clemen's does. It left all of the Yankees pitchers in the dust trying to keep up with him. Nolan Ryan was the same way. Those two are from the same area and had the same work ethic.

Look, baseball as an institution has failed everyone including the players. They kept turning their collective backs on this issue until it came back and bit them in the @$$. Anyone who have been proven to have used steroids should have their stats changed to reflect it. I put Bonds in the same group as the others.

The others you've mentioned were not sports figures. Society seems to look at their drug abuse much differently.

Bonds is a pompous @$$, there's no doubt about it. Sosa was beloved because of his likable personality. The fact is he still cheated too. No only with steroids but with a corked bat. Nice guy or not, people don't like cheaters.

As far as Jim "Burning" Rome is concerned, he's for Jim and no one else. He is always the focal point of all his shows. I don't even pay attention to him.

I doubt that anyone will ever consider Bonds the home run king of any league. He doesn't belong in the Hall Of Fame and neither do the others.

No, they shouldn't only prosecute Bonds. I agree that all the other stupid guys that admitted to or were flat-out caught with 'roids should have their awards taken away. They don't deserve to be regarded as icons or heroes!

However, I don't like Barry Bonds because he IS a jerk! If it is proven that he didn't juice up, great for him & yeah, he would be considered a superior athlete! But if he did take them, his numbers should be erased just like all the rest should be. It's only fair. Just because he hasn't admitted it doesn't mean he hasn't taken anything.

Nobody does my thinking for me. I have watched him for a few years and every year he gets cockier and even more rude than the year before.
That's why I don't like the guy! Period!

So I won't be boycotting anything or anyone. Their choices don't change my mind about baseball being amazing, movies being funny, or music being great.
I'm not stupid. Why would I ever let what they do keep me from watching the greatest game in the world?

I think all should be dealt with equally. I have heard Bonds apologists saying that Bonds shouldn't be prosecuted because no one else is. I say prosecute them all equally or forget it.
People want to take his numbers away because he cheated.

All athletes except golfers cheat to some degree. It is a sad state of affairs when the world has come to this. When is the last time you saw or heard of an athlete admitting "I was really tagged out ump, or Yeah, I trapped the ball." There is no honor left anywhere in team sports. If you were to make admissions like I mentioned above you would be ridiculed or kicked off the team.

Your question and attached comments are beyond ridiculous. Caminiti is dead, and McGwire, Canseco, Sosa, and Palmeiro are disgraced. Their MVPs and HR titles have not been taken away yet, but any and all accomplishments achieved by these players is forever tainted. People realize that their accomplishments are largely a result of steroids, and the same is true of Bonds. Of course he hasn't failed a drug test, he stopped taking the stuff before testing began, and now that he's stopped, look at him. Yes, he's had somewhat of a hot streak lately, but he looks every bit the way a 42 year old player is supposed to look.

Has he failed a drug test? No, and now he probably never will. But how can anyone say with a straight face that the numbers he put up after turning 35 are normal for someone that age? For example, he slugged .863, .799, .749, and .812 from ages 37-40. That is not human. You don't improve at that age, and you certainly don't put up those kinds of numbers. It is a proven fact that HGH, which is undetectable so far, improves a person's eyesight, which is why older or dying people take it. We don't need the media to make up our minds for us, it's right there in the statistics. Bonds is a cheater, plain and simple. Many associated with him have been imprisoned, including Victor Conte, and Greg Anderson, BOND'S PERSONAL TRAINER WHO HAS GONE TO PRISON FOR NOT TALKING ABOUT BONDS BECAUSE HE IS HIDING THE FACT THAT BONDS HAS USED STEROIDS! DUH!! That's all you need to know. Of course "he has not admitted to using anything". Would you?

Yes, I do believe that the reason people want to take away Bond's numbers is partly because he's a jerk, but also because he's chasing the most famous record in sports. He's mean, a racist, a tax cheat, and a cheater in baseball.

You also make me laugh. Rogers and Clemens have 'roid rage? Roger is a soft-tossing lefthander with an 85 mph fastball, he doesn't throw 95. He has a temper, like a lot of people do. Clemens is still very good, but he doesn't blow people away like he used to. His numbers took off because he moved to the NL where no one had seen him before and pitchers bat, unlike the AL where there are 9 good hitters in the lineup. Give an example of his " roid rage". He hasn't had any blowups that I know of lately.

Your comparing Bonds to Chris Farley and John Lennon is stupid. THere is just no sense in comparing illegal recreational drugs to illegal drugs to gain an advantage in your sport, and to call into question each and every record that you set, like Bonds has done.

Read "Game of Shadows", which is based on factual, leaked testimony of the BALCO investigation, this stuff isn't made up, and two reporters may go to jail for telling the truth.

I think they should pay attention to those accusations and do something about it. I am so sick and tired of these players that have cheated in the games and get away with it. If you are going to put a rule up, enforce so others will get a quick understanding as to what their futures will possibly hold.
Also, any records that Bonds made will he was using steroids should be wiped off the record books. Using steroids is a form of cheating and should not be praised as a career accomplishment.
There are other athletes out there who work their butts off to get where they are without using body enhancing drugs. They deserve so much more in recognition than Bonds.

First I Think the above names should not make be in the Hall Of Fame. Bonds Should Not Be In the Hall Of Fame Because He Did Steroids. He Does not have to admitted He Did it He was using the Clear that does not show steroids. No one Said He Was That Dumb He would Be dumb if he admitted he did Use Them. The Only Way I will say he should go in is WHEN THEY LET SHOELESS JOE JACKSON IN

Last time I checked, Barry admitted to unknowingly (yeah, right)admitted to using an arthritis cream, that didn't help his injuries, but put 30 pounds of muscle on him. Barry's body is breaking down as a result of his steroid use. Barry's fans are the only ones who won't admit the obvious.

And it's not just Barry Bonds, I say strip everything away from all of them.

Bonds has something none of those other players do: An active career in the Major Leagues. If Barry quit this year 20 home runs shy of Hammerin' Hank's record, he would disappear, too.
