the distance one hits a ball really doesn't make that much difference. the things scouts look for are contact hitting, fielding, arm strength, foot speed and the most important.....your mental game. how a person handles themself will help in determining whether they can handle the spotlight of major league baseball. i am sure if you can hit it out that will garner some attention.

The distance you hit the ball is not as important as how few times you strike out. You will need to consistently hit the ball hard and in-play to have a chance.

The top level players are considered "5-tool players". That means they are fast in foot speed; they have a strong throwing arm; they catch the ball well; they hit the ball well for batting average; and they hit the ball with power (for extra base hits).

The players that are drafted are measured against their peers and current players. The scouts look at the talent in front of them and try to predict how much potential for success each player has. The batting skills can be taught to athletes. Running speed and throwing ability can be helped with better techniques but are more natural ability. Good Luck!

Depends on the player. Certain teams look for certain things in every player. Juan Pierre was a high draft pick but has very little power. Just hitting the ball consistently works for some teams while other teams look for a power hitter.

u should preferibly play on a top high school team and/or play on a college team. Its not about distance, its about being able to hit saftly or have a good On Base Percentage though many scouts don't look at that specfiically. just doing well in hs or college usually shows u can play well against good competition (for ur age group).

there's no specific distance.....just look at Scot Podsednik he doesnt hit the ball far but he gets on base and steals bases soo you don't have to hit the ball far to be drafted

It doesn't matter how far you hit the ball. You have to be good at fielding, base running, reading pitches, studying pitchers, etc.

10 feet. If you are consistantly fast enough to get to first base on a bunt, then you don't have to hit home runs at all. Dingers aren't the key to a great ML player.

392 feet on the nose. Any less and you hit like a girl. Any more and the media thinks you're on steroids.
