Do the cars in NASCAR have anything like a black box or something that would record if a driver was to exceed maximum engine RPMs?

Robby Gordon isn't surprised by Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s continued engine problems. A year ago, he went through the same problems. Earnhardt's engine blew during the final restart of last Sunday's race at the Martinsville Speedway. It was the seventh engine failure for Earnhardt this year - five since he announced in May he was leaving Dale Earnhardt Inc. at the end of the season. A year ago, Gordon bought engines from DEI. After he announced he was leaving Chevrolet for Ford in October, he had five engine failures in the final six races. "It doesn't surprise me a bit," Gordon said. "I've been there. I don't think they're giving him bad engines, but I do think they're probably giving him some experimental engines. He's probably getting some (research and development) stuff." -- Savannah Morning News

No hating! Just your honest opinion!
You know the drivers that just don't have IT and have been around long enough to know it!
We need to make room for new talent!
This question is not about who you like, but rather who is just not getting it done!
Thanks!

Ok - We have the NFL and the MLB right? Do they have major sponsors OVER their sport? NO! They have sponsors IN the sports but nobody that is claiming ownership of the NFL or MLB. Why can't it just be NASCAR Championship Cup Series sponsored by Sprint? We could also go to the now Busch series and call it the NASCAR Amateur Cup Series sponsored by whoever because I don't think Busch is doing it again. We could also take it one futher and call it NASCAR Truck Series Sponsored by Craftsman or whoever decides to spend more money to beat Craftsman. That way whenever sponsors changed it wouldn't screw up the name for fans. All this is doing is showing how greedy the sponsors are getting - oops have gotten. What is your opinion?

Pick any other diver and use one word to coin him with that best describes his "driving style".

No Bashing - try to be creative and try to use "ator" on the end of the word.

Maybe if Jr would not blow up engines, and if Edwards and Matt would stop fighting like little girls, and if the other teams worked as hard as HMS maybe someone else would be winning! Get over it!

This season in F1 stinks! I think the sport has far too much money & corruption going on in it!
Ron Dennis said that they didn't fill Hamilton's car to the end because it saved 10 seconds on running a heavy fuel load with slower lap times?!?
I'm no mathematician but a pit stop takes around 20 seconds!!
I'm sure tyres would have gone to the end of the race.

Also China why would you risk point leader on balding tyres because you were worried about other teams pit strategies.
He could have gone to Brazil with only needing a couple of points to have the Championship in his rookie season!
Is this bad decision making by Ron & the team?!?
Do they want Lewis not have too much too soon?!?

What happened? It's as if even the Gods were against Lewis winning, everything that COULD go wrong, DID go wrong, still well done Hamilton for going all out to TRY his best. He made it an exciting game and for a bit it even looked like he might be in with a chance. Much as I wanted Lewis to win, I am glad that Kimi came first as he REALLY deserved that win,

People call Alonso selfish, but forget he was the defending Champion.

Why do people think he came to McLaren? To sucumb to a #2 driver a help a rookie take his title???

I don't get it. Did people really expect Fernando to willingly take the #2 position in the team and let a rookie take over? it boggles my mind.

It was only for a brief moment, but all of a sudden, it seemed like the race i've been wanting to see all season, when Dale Earnhardt Jr was running in first position and Martin Truex was in second. It was like it should've been that way all season. That was the best part of the race for me. It always looks like Junior knows how to work with his teammates.

Did you all see that? Matt Kensith was doing an interview and Carl comes over and totally crashes it. Then Carl fakes a punch and Matt flinches! I am a huge 99 fan but i thought this was a little uncalled for. The reason why he said he did this was, "beacuase his teamtes never congratualte him on victories and that he was sick of only getting congratulation messages from Jimmy Johnson." What are your thoughts on the situation?
