People......did Darrel Waltrip sell out America? He is getting more money now....from Toyota, than he did in racing or being a color commentator for NASCAR. How can any American support Toyota when it still is owened by a Japanese company? It may be built in a America, but it is still a foriegn car or truck. Opinions?

Will the COT have a really big difference in racing? Drivers adapt . If they are truley stock car racers they will find that the COT will be the best thing since.........uh....well....sex. I mean...come on people. These guys and gals get a rush of speed. And engine builders will get better. Crew chiefs will get smarter. Drivers will get craftier.

Here is a possible solution: Each car that shows up would get points based on how many attempt to qualify. For example: If 50 cars show up. the pole would be worth 50 points, down to 1 for the slowest car. Then the 43 FASTEST cars would race. NO PROVISIONALS. The winner would get 43 points, on down to 1 point for 43rd place. The winner would get a maximum of 93 points, and each team would get SOMETHING out of the weekend.

Instead of running 500 laps on a short track, why not run the event like a normal grassroots race. Have the time trials in the afternoon, then start heat races made up of 10-12 cars. The first four finishers in each heat make the feature. The rest of the field could be filled with finishers from a "C" and "B" mains. Top finishers from the "C" advance to the "B". Top finishers from the "B" would advance to the rear of the "A". The number advanced could be adjusted to fill the field This is the way most short tracks run their weekly shows. It insures that the good cars will make the "A" main by placing well in the heat races. But it also give a chance to a car that may have had trouble early in the night to make the main by finishing well in the "B" main. Heat races could be 10-12 laps, the C main could be 15-20 laps, the B main could be 25-35 laps, and the A main could be 100 laps. The race would take as much time to run as a 500 lap event but the cars would run more all-out racing lap

Any motorsport -- NASCAR, IRL, NHRA, AMA, etc. -- only restriction is she must be actively racing this season. Also, if you could please add a link to her official website in your answer that would be appreciated.

I would imagine that some of you have never been to a race, let alone watched one from start to finish on TV. If you can get through a whole race without a "pitstop", you just might be the ULTIMATE NASCAR FAN. You know, that is a lot easier when you are actually at the track, and sitting in the sun all day while enjoying a few ice cold beverages of your choice. If you only like NASCAR because you think a certain driver is "good looking", you really aren't a NASCAR fan, you are just looking for "eye candy".

I have an Idea for a tool that would make the pit stops quicker and more competitive . How do I go about getting it approved ? It would be very costly to make but its a great idea . I just wonder how to get it approved through Nascar and get a patent on it?

Even though we have a long season of racing yet to come, what do you think Bobby LaBontes chances of making the chase are? He is in 14th in points now. Need to be top 12. Mark Martin is ahead of him still & will recieve no points again this week.

I wonder if he ever have thought his death would have caused sooooo many safety changes in racing? From the man who fought for the restrictor plates to come off and basically said if people didn't want to drive fast, they didn't have to. Can you imagine him wearing the HANS Device? What would his thought on the COT be?

Considering the need to break hard off the straightaways and accellerate hard at the top of the tight turns at Martinsville, do traditional road specialists have somewhat of an advantage there? Jeff Gordon seems to do well at Martinsville leading me to this question and I wonder if Juan Pablo Montoya might find a certain measure of sucess there as well.

I haven't followed NASCAR since the early 90's and I know at that time the cylinder heads and blocks had to be available over the counter to the General public. I work at a Toyota Dealership at the Parts Counter and cannot find any info on the heads Toyota uses. In fact I can't find any info at all on Toyota's NASCAR V8.
If you go to Ford Motorsports you can find and buy the Heads and Block used for NASCAR, Same with GM and MOPAR. How and why is Toyota getting away without selling these to the general public? Has Nascar changed that rule?
No longer a NASCAR fan, Consider NASCAR the WWF of Motorsports.
