I haven't followed NASCAR since the early 90's and I know at that time the cylinder heads and blocks had to be available over the counter to the General public. I work at a Toyota Dealership at the Parts Counter and cannot find any info on the heads Toyota uses. In fact I can't find any info at all on Toyota's NASCAR V8.
If you go to Ford Motorsports you can find and buy the Heads and Block used for NASCAR, Same with GM and MOPAR. How and why is Toyota getting away without selling these to the general public? Has Nascar changed that rule?
No longer a NASCAR fan, Consider NASCAR the WWF of Motorsports.

Whoa there. You will see the heads and after market Toyota parts for sell to the general public. Give them time to set up a popular v8 motor. Chevy, Ford and Pontiac have been in this game for a long time. It takes time. You need to really give the NASCAR of today a chance. I have seen alot of changes since the 80's and I am still here.

I don't think they've changed that rule, although perhaps the interpretation has changed.

A friend of mine races dirt modifieds and contacted TRD about buying a Toyota NASCAR engine. This was last year, so I am pretty sure it was one of the Craftsman Truck Series engines. They will sell them, but they want a lot of money for them - if I remember right, they quoted him around $70,000. I don't remember if that was for an entire engine, assembled short block, bare block, block and heads, or what. Nonetheless, they are available to the general public, but they are priced so that nobody in their right mind would actually buy one.

Toyota's V8 is built in Huntsville,Alabama. The heads used in NASCAR are similar to the ones that they have successfully used in the craftsman trucks.
That's all I have to say about that.
