Have to lap times in the car of tomrrow been any quicker than the cars before, or about the same or what?

Slower, but not by a lot. About a half a second to 3/4 of a second. I think the only time a COT has been faster than the current car is when Kurt Busch ran his COT during Daytona testing. Busch ran a 47.074, over a full second faster than the next fastest driver (Menard with a 48.103).

Well for Bristol. At last year's August race Kurt Busch got the pole and went at a top speed of 124.906mph. This year Jeff Gordon won the Pole (with COT) and had a top speed of 125.453mph. So the Gordon went faster by .453. Nearly a half a second faster than Kurt Busch from the previous year.

For the most part the times are slower.But let's remember the is the 2nd race.Yes they have had testing but racing is different.Now the teams have the chance to fine tune the cars for more speed/stability with other cars .Shortly the speeds should start to speed up.
That's all I have to say about that.

Who cares? NASCAR should stop this stupidity and go back to racing the cars you and I drive. That's what got them where they are, not racing funnycars where the only similarity to any car you or I could buy is just painted on. NASCAR is boring boring boring now.
