Michael is a good driver, but being a owner/driver is never a good combo.

If he wants to be committed to his team, its time for him to retire, and be concerned about running the team

I am a Michael Waltrip fan and so is my mom. It is not his falt of screwed up everthing. He is trying his best as he can. I will say he should not quit untill when ever he makes the decisons when ever that is it could be like the year 2099. I will still be his favorite fan untill he retire. Then I will pick a new driver and I will still be his favorite fan and his brother Darrell Waltrip.

Right now the one driver under the microscope is Waltrip .NASCAR,NAPA,and Toyota are watching his every move.He knows that if anything is found with his car he is up the creek and no other manufacturer will take a chance on him.
But I shutter at the thought he may end up as a color commentator for the races!
That's all I have to say about that.

Michael has never been a great driver, and the only time he was good was when he was with DEI (except for 05). He has always been decent, but never great. I think he is stretched too thin. And, it also has to do with launching a new manufacturer and new teams. All Toyota teams are struggling. Mayfield and Allmendinger have only made one more race than Waltrip. Plus, if it wasn't for the top-35 rule, he would have made Bristol. He'll get it together eventually. It might not be until next year, but he'll get there.

M. Waltrip got thugged into this deal with Toyota from his big bro D.W. Michael is another sub-par driver. DEI was his only sweet spot. He pissed Dale Jr. off and got the boot. A real stock car driver NEVER quits in the face of adversity. NEVER.

No. Actually NASCAR needs to rethink and get rid of it's rule of allowing the top 35 in owners points a "guaranteed" spot in races. This rule played absolutely no factor in Michael not making the field for Martinsville this weekend, but it did make a difference in earlier races this season.

NASCAR has continually made concessions and changes to please and appease sponsors and a broader fan base, and left the drivers and teams out in the cold!

If NASCAR wants to give a guarantee to drivers, then get reasonable. Give guarantees to the top 15 in points. But not owners points! Championship points! It is PATHETIC that Juan Pablo Montoya was given a guarantee to be in the first five races of the year, BASED ON Casey Mears performance last year. Yet, Michael has to try to make one of 8 (only 7 if somebody uses a Past Champions provisional) spots.

I'm by no means a Toyota fan! But, I do believe in fair. And, it's not fair to give people a guarantee based on others performances.

Michael Waltrip has been just a soso driver for a long time he and Jr. got lucky when they won at daytona. now that dale sr. is nolonger there to run things DEI has gone straight down hill. i think its funny how people think Jr. is so great when there are other drivers out there that are younger then him and have driven a lot better then him

No he shouldn't quit as an owner, but I think he's about done as a driver. It's time to put someone else in the car.
