First off let me say that I don't buy foreign automobiles. I may like some of the models, but its not enough for me to want to buy one over an American manufacturer. Now to step into D.W.'s shoes I can kind of see his argument being a spokesperson for Toyota. Back in the 1980's when Waltrip was in his prime, NASCAR did not pay as much as it would now for a victory or starting a race. I'm sure D.W. is making good money from Fox and Speed Channel, but he probably wants to be financially secure for the rest of his life. When he started his truck racing team, Toyota was his sponsor. I think its O.K. for him to do the commercials for Toyota and Aarons. However, I won't buy a foreign made car.

Best to lighten up folks, when I visit a nascar venue I see plenty of foreign autos. Automobile manufacturers have in the past not focused on the quality that should have been built in as they claimed. (american) . A lot of the american manufacturers currently have parts built outside of america...Mexico , Korea, China.....etc. . A lot of americans are employed by Toyota and TRD. I think they are here to stay.

None of this drivel can prove DW isn't a sellout. What do you think drove so many GM and Ford plants to close in the US, traitors buying Japanese cars. Helllllooooo!!!!
I am a proud American who would rather walk, or push my old Chevy than drive a toyota. What's wrong with walking anyway? There are too many seriously overweight people (and kids) in America.

So what you are saying is that if anyone buys something made in a foreign country, then they are selling out? Do you buy anything from Wal-mart? What about Sears or JC Penney? Or what about NASCAR items. Most of my hats are made in China. And are so are a lot of the die-cast cars. Most of those things are made in different countries. Try to buy things that are only made her in America by Americans. You can't do it. It is impossible. And if you can, let me know where to shop.
D.W. isn't a sell-out. He is a business man. And he is living the American dream. He gets to go to all the NASCAR races and gets paid to do so.

Well Toyota is the only one made in the U.S. so I think that's more American than Chevy or Ford. I mean, Dodge Chrysler (a Greman Company) could possibly be bought out by someone in China. So I don't think any car is fully one country.
