Do you know WHY he went on a rant about Ray Evernham? First of all Ray took his proven team (Mayfield was in the chase in 2004 and 2005) and gave it to Kasey Kahne who then went on to make the chase last year. Next, he was so busy with his divorce and new realtionship with Erin Crocker that he was not devoting enough time to helping the organization as a whole. Jeremy was validated when the stuff got aired out in court after Ray accused him of crashing on purpose. Jeremy Mayfield didn't all of a sudden go to crap in less than a year's time all on his own, he had a lot of "help" from his former owner. This year is a totally different deal and let's not forget how bad he got screwed at Daytona when Marlin obviously pulled up at the end of their duel and let Mike Wallace go by for the transfer spot (thus leaving Mayfield out of the 500 who would have made it on his qualifying time). None of the Toyotas are qualifying or running that good yet except for Vickers and Ruetimann with the limited success they've had.

Just looking at things without going in depth, You would think that Ray Evernham is having a mile long grin right now, saying "look who sucks now Jeremy"

But if you really think about it, Bill Davis went from a single car team with an occasional 2nd car now and again, to a 3 car team literally overnight. No one is going though unschathed. Jeremy is way better than the team is right now. Evernham Motorsports is not the team it was a few years back.

I though he ran decent until last year when they made the switch to Elliot Sadler. I mean he made the chase 2 years in a row. (Something that Jeff Gordon failed to do.) This year has been a struggle for him, his team, and Toyota. I believe his team is a branch of Bill Davis Racing which has been the main program for Toyota. There has even been rumors that the #36 team would shut down, had they no qualify for Bristol. With a new team you have to preform great out of the box in this sport. You have to be in the top 35 in owner points to be successful, and you can't do that if you don't make the races.

Mr. Mayfield is a sub-par driver. He needs to be with a team that only expects sub-par results. I am not saying that is a bad thing. A sub-par team does have a chance at a really good season. Not many wins though.

It's not Evernham...them Dodges fall apart! Something is always breaking. Mayfield just isn't a great driver...he should shut his mouth!

I'm not really a Mayfield fan but, I'm not sure it's him as much as it is the team he races for, well at least attempts to race for.

I heard one person on a sports radio program make the comment about Jeremy that he would lose a race to the bathroom since his departure from Everham.
That's all I have to say about that.
