Several famous open wheelers will be NASCAR rookies next year. Which one do you think will have the best rookie season?

1) Dario Franchitti (Chip Ganassi Racing)
2) Jacques Villeneuve (Bill Davis Racing)
3) Patrick Carpentier (Gillett-Evernham Motorsports)
4) Sam Hornish Jr. (if he commits) (Penske Racing)

...I honestly think Jacques Villeneuve will. He recently bought part of BDR so he will be there to win not just to have a seat. He has shown that he has respect for the other drivers (Talladega) and they will do what they can to help someone like that . He has been getting practice time in at the truck series. If he can handle a truck he should be able to adjust well to the cup cars. The respect he shows for the other drivers may contribute to some degree of consistency.

Franchitti is running for a good team, with a fellow open wheel driver to get notes from (Montoya).

Villeneuve defently isnt no slouch, but is on the twilight of his carrer, on a average team at best.

Carpentier is on a team that could get right back up there with Gillett's new infusion of cash into the team, and Carpentier is a pretty good driver.

Hornish is good too, on a top notch team, but the question is will he be able to qualify. All his attempts so far have lead to nothing.

Out of the 4, I would say Franchitti will be the best rookie.

Wont be surprised to see Carpentier done before we reach the middle part of the season. He isnt a very talented driver to begin with, he struggled in INDY cars and that was his specialty. Hornish is too afraid too commit because he wants to be competitive and he knows if he moves to NASCAR he will not be competing for wins and championships like he does in the IRL. Villenueve is in awful equipment and i cant see him doing much. Franchitti will do the best but he will not be that great. I see all four of these guys out of stock car racing within 3 years.

NOTE: How can all of you people say these guys are going to be good? Since when has bill davis racing ever been an elite team? When has Chip Gnassi been able to provide consistency to his program? I dont understand how you think these washed up open wheel guys who have mocked our sport and said we race "taxi cabs" will be able to come in here and set the world on fire.

I think Franchitti or Carpentier. Franchitti has a little advantage because Juan Pablo can help explain the transition from open wheel to stock cars and because right now, Evernham's car's aren't very good either. Hornisch can't even seem to make a race and Villenueve will only have a Toyota from Bill Davis...

I think Villeneuve is the better racer of the group, but I don't think Bill Davis can supply the cars, the other three drivers will get. So I would have to go with Franchitti for the best season , just because of his cars.

Definitely Jacques Villeneuve, this guy can dominate anything, especially if BDR sells part of the team to this rich Canadian... Carpentier will do well also..

Jacques Villeneuve by far will be the best.

The question is who will have the best rookie season? Not who is going to dominate and beat jeffy gordon.

Jacques is coming in w/ the right attitude and I think will do well over the years he spends in NASCAR.. but right off the bat, I think your going to see Carpentier be the most successful. He's done fairly well in Champ Car and IRL.. Look for him to do great things in NASCAR.

Dario Franchitti (Chip Ganassi Racing). Better team, hottest driver, got experience at the big track ('Dega) as an initiation to the big dogs.

Wouldn't you be inspired if Ashley Judd was your wife?? :)
