That in the NASCAR section of answers, if you spell check your answer, NASCAR is not in the Yahoo dictionary.

I mean come on people, NASCAR is in the Merrian-Webster dictionary, why not here?

I don't mind, I'm just happy to know that some people do use the spell check option. A lot of people don't, and they REALLY should. :)

The spell check is not the greatest in the world. Once it flagged the word 'the' to tell me that 'th' is not a word. I'm pretty sure that I know how to spell 'the'.

Just click ignore and move on. There's more important things to be miffed about.

Probably a small database. There are a lot of words that are not in the yahoo dictionary not just Nascar. It is kind of shame they don't have it. How do you spell Racecar backwards?

...Talladega isn't either. Maybe they can't spell Talladega in 'Hoo-ville. You have to pay attention to their automated system because it can mess you up at times.

...I usually enter a word in their home page search box to get the best results.

Yahoo (Hooville)

... Yahoo Answers is still in development. They are making changes all the time. They also have a suggestion board http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=answers&fid=54575 that you can contribute to to help make improvements.

NASCAR is an abbreviation, not exactly a word.

People can't deal with the truth, is why why all the thumbs down?

NASCAR is an abbreviation for National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, it's not an actual "word" per say.
