One of the guys on Baseball Tonight said that guys who slide head first into first base are making a mistake because you are much more likely to be called safe if you just run it out. I usually give no credibility to anything they say, but I honestly don't know about this one. Anyone have an idea? Some support to your answers would be helpful.

If the bases are loaded with no outs and the pitcher "strikes" out the batter but the catcher "accidentally" drops the ball, steps on home plate, fires to second base, and then throws to first, can that be a triple play?

I know that normally if there is a strikeout but the catcher dropped the ball, he must throw it to first base to record the out, so does that rule still apply in a bases loaded, no outs situation? Also I know about the infield fly rule that makes triple plays difficult to come by when an infielder lets a routine pop fly ball drop.

I feel a bit disappointed because i was excited when i saw the draw and noticed that Sharapova would play Vaidisova in 4th round for the 1st time ever. That would be an interesting match. But both of them blew that away by losing in 3rd set. What a disappointment. :(

I was doing some investigating on that caliber just for the hell of it, and it doesn't seem like it is too bad of a caliber. It is really tiring to see Michigan and Ohio State get such high rankings. Last year they were one and two and everyone was crying because they didn't get to face each other for the Natl Championship. Then they both go and get pasted in their respective bowls. This year App State... come on. Isn't it the Big 10 commissioner, Jim Delany, that is the big opponent to a college playoff. It seems he's knows how obvious it is that his schools would suffer because they don't do too well. It seems Mich and OSU get too much props for rolling over such weak competition. Are there really more media writers that vote in the polls in the Big 10 area of the country?
