I look past the "big" names and look at the depth. The Big 10 is a really deep conference if you look at it. Wisconsin has a fantastic football team as well as Penn State this year. I have to agree that Michigan and Ohio State are overrated by some people but they're still good football teams. I can't wait until the Big Ten commissioner gets Notre Dame to join (if he can) because then they can have a playoff to see who is the true Big Ten champion.
To end I must say that the Pacific 10's depth is way underrated. Just think about the upsets last year. Just saying.

Have you ever met some people from that part of the country? They think their ish don't stink. They try to come down here to the dirty, and tell me how great it is up there. Well if it is so great, why don't you go back up there with your non driving ***.
Half the teams in the country are stocked with players down here in FL, and there is a reason for that. Michigan and Ohio State would be .500 in the SEC. The SEC teams don't get to play Indiana and Northwestern every year. PAC10 and the BIG12 is better than the Big Ten.

Wow, was TFoley5000 paying attention yesterday? OSU beat Youngstown State 38-6, while Wisconsin beat Wazoo 42-21.
Sorry, but the Big Ten was bad last year and it will be bad again this year. It's a very top heavy conference with some really bad teams in it (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Purdue), more bad teams than nearly any other conference. Illinois overplayed themselves against Missouri yesterday, Minnesota lost to a bad Bowling Green team, Northwestern beat a bad I-AA team in Northeastern, as did Indiana with Indiana State. Toledo is in a down cycle, which explains Purdue's win. Michigan State abused a vastly undersized UAB squad, but we'll see how good the Spartans are when the schedule picks up for them in two weeks with Pitt, @Notre Dame, and @Wisconsin before the end of September. Iowa beat Northern Illinois, but not impressively.
As for the "big" boys in the conference, OSU beat up on a I-AA school, Penn State beat up on a I-A should be NAIA school (outside of Notre Dame, the Nittany Lions' non-conference schedule is Florida International, Buffalo, and Temple, who were a combined 3-33 last year), and we all know about Michigan's implosion. Wisconsin had the only semi-impressive win, but even that was over a team projected to finish 8th in the Pac Ten. We'll really see how good the Buckeyes are when they play Washington, who looks not to be the pushover they were last year, if the win over a very bad Syracuse squad is any indication.

I certainly wouldn't call the Big 10 "bad." But they seem to be stubbornly clinging to the notion that they can win with big, strong, plodding players.
Speed kills. You'd think they would start catching on after what Florida and USC did to Ohio State and Michigan in January, and if that didn't do it, surely Appalachian State should have driven the point home with their smaller, faster players.
Hey, Lloyd, Jim, and you other Big Ten coaches: Did you see how Cal beat Tennessee this weekend? No, I guess not....

the big ten isnt bad. and big ten teams arent the only ones that schedule cupcakes in the non-conference schedule. and as cupcakes go, at least michigan had enough guts to go up again the two-time defending champions of the cupcakes. the sec is the premier conference right now, but the big ten has always been a power conference, always produced solid teams and has an illustrious history. dont be jealous.

Not True the Buckeyes won over Youngstown State 56 to 7, and Wisconsin won over Washington State 35 to 14, so I see nothing wrong here.

As bad as that sounds, that is not even close to Notre Dame being invited to bowl games year after year, even with the mediocre records they wind up with, while teams with better records stay at home and watch as the Irish get blown away
