1) Ohio State beat Youngstown State 38-6
YSU has been particularly successful in football, winning four NCAA Division I-AA national championships (in 1991, 1993, 1994, and 1997). They were runners-up in 1992 and 1999.
They sound a little more successful than App State, your point?
2) Yes, they are a good team, not great
3) Armanti Edwards posts very good numbers, yes!
4) This makes no sense... I think they have done pretty well the last 4 years against better competition..

Well most likely but me saying this makes me sound like a mourning michigan fan. Ohio State is 11. Michigan is 5. The Apps could be Ohio State.

Ohio State is overrated? They aren't even in the Top 10 this year and they have their whole defense back who allowed like 11 points a game last season. Yes, they were the 2nd best team in the country last year and were rated #1 so I guess in that aspect they are overrated. I am just getting sick of hearing about how Ohio State is overrated when they beat two #2 teams last season. I guess we will see next year when they play USC after that you can talk. At least they schedule some good teams in the non-conference and win but that will not be good enough for any of you will it?

Well anything is possible now that Appalachian St. beat the overrated Michigan Wolverines. It's be something to see the App St. team play any team in division 1A, not just Ohio St. I bet they probably can great OSU and alot of division 1A in a neutral site. I like to see them play more 1A team down the road.

Steven,
I am probably as big a "big" 10 hater as you. But as much as I would love to say that Appy State could beat the buckeyes (which is really nothing but a worthless nut) every time. Lets be realistic.
If Appy State played in the "big" 10 they would be in the lower half as far as quality goes, way down there with the Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Northwestern, and Minnesotas of the conf.
If Ohio State played only the lower half of their conference their entire season, they would go undefeated. So I would have to say if they played Appy State 12 times and Appy State won even once, that would still be considered an upset.

I dont comprehend concerning the entire 2d string. yet various the adult males they have could be first string gamers on many precise 25 colleges. i'm not keen on Bama the two and that i do think of Bama ought to triumph over Ohio State yet not with their complete 2d string. perhaps some jumbled in with the conventional starters. not plenty do to skills point yet journey greater then something. Oh and im happy FSU decrease back to Glory this year. Boomer faster i'm nevertheless waiting for FSU to get off the bus to play OU

Give me a break! Get real! Just because of one 'fluke' game where they pulled off the 'uspet of all time' in collegiate sports history, doesn't make them an equal to the best teams in the country. I will be the first to admit that App State was the best team on the field that particular day but it ends there. They were the best because they were better prepared on that day. I happen to be a die hard Michigan fan and even with the big Michigan/Ohio State rivalry I still say the Buckeyes would kick their butts! (App. State). Any team can have an off day and even though I like Lloyd Carr, he must take all the blame for the ugly loss (which he has already done), After all he gets paid a lot of money to get his team ready for every game. The Wolverines have the talent, the coaching staff has to be able to get the most out of it. "GO BLUE" !!!

Coming from a Buckeye fan, saturday was their day and if they played as well as they did yesterday then it would be a good game. But Ohio States defence is one of the top in the country.

No, because Ohio State's defense isn't the sieve that Michigan's is.
Appy State would win one in maybe 50 against Ohio State. They would also win one in 50 vs. Michigan; unfortunately for the Wolverines, that one was September 1, 2007.

What does Appalachian State have to do with Ohio State? Did they play recently or something? Maybe you are confusing them with Michigan, that is who they just played. Whoever told you that Ohio State played App. State is pulling your leg, and you shouldnt believe everything you hear. Plus get the facts right before you post a question for everyone to see. It doesnt make you look too bright at all. Know what you are talking about before posting.
