well im 18 and i kinda had a sudden urge to skate. ive tried before when i was in 8th grade but i was a heavy kid and i couldnt really jump around and stuff lol(im alot skinnier now lol and 20 pounds lighter). now me and my friend talked about learning how to skate. he kinda knows how already but im still pretty much new at it. im not really planning on being pro i kinda just want to learn a few tricks and be able to cruise around the streets. maybe learn some grinds but thats a long while. and whats a good board to buy? my friend is selling me one for 90 bucks i dont realy know what it is but the picture on the board is a flame guy and a water droplet guy lol i dont know if that makes sence. he got it in a contest in 8th grade.

Why do yankee fans think that jeter is god? He gets between 10 and 15 homeruns a year, less than 100 RBI's a year, a batting average of about .320 each year. I would take A-Rod in a hearbeat over Jeter. Jeter is a good player, but he is way over rated. He is the second worst in the MLB in zone rating. Please i need to know why people think he is god.

Doesn't the very question above appear to be a contradiction, the mere thought of a legend not getting his due? Recognition isn't as cut and dried as it seems. Everyone talks about how great so-and-so is and how they were dazzled by their talents. However, what legendary player flies under the collective radar? Who is the most overlooked NHL legend?

I'm sure I'm going to catch a great deal of flak for this question, esecially from the Rangers and Oilers fans. However, it has to be asked. The inspiration for my question comes from an earlier question asked by someone a couple weeks ago comparing Steve Yzerman and Mark Messier.

While Messier was a great player, do we as hockey fans tend to overrate him? After all, he gets lauded for basically having a great series in 1994 when he guaranteed a Game Six win the the Eastern finals against New Jersey (and scored a hat trick in the process). Yzerman on the other hand, is often overlooked in circles because he spent his entire career with one city that really didn't become a dominant hockey power until the last decade of his career. Was it a New York thing that left Messier with a more favorable position in our minds, or is the hype surrounding his leadership skills warranted? In other words, is the legend of Mark Messier overrated?

Following up on an earlier question I posted, I thought I would ask this one:

Throught the league's history, players come in with enormous hype and promise. Some of them live up to it in grand fashion (a couple of Canadian kids named Gretzky and Lemieux, and of course I'm referring to Brent and Alain!), and some join the masses of "What ever happened to...". Who were those players that fell off the map because of their questionable work habits? In other words, who was the biggest dog in league history?

Okay who has to agree that Watched the Michigan game today. I really wanted Michigan to win (well not at the end). But that was a game. I could watch that one again. I guess the saying apply's *On any given Sunday*.

I dont think the world was ready for that. Im sitting back thinking are they really that good or was Michigan even there?
