I'm going on a ski trip in a few weeks.
I'm not sure what to do.
Snowboarding or skiing.
I've snowboarded before for like 2 days.
I sucked. I fell down all the time, couldn't balance, my average time without falling was like 5 seconds, and I got really really sore.
I don't want that to happen on the ski trip.
I've never tried skiing. And I need something to keep my balance.
But my mom said that skiing won't be good for me because I have really long legs and that i'll break them if I ski.
And I have a fear that i'll go too fast and break something on my body.
Man... I wish I didn't sign up for this. But its too late. >.<
Should I just stick with snowboarding? Even though I'll spend most of the time on my butt? And would it be fun if a lot of other people in my group are skiing? (I'm not really sure the percentage of the people skiing.)

I'm going to the snow next month for a little relaxing vacation and I have a pair of rain boots... those cutsie ones... and I'm wondering... are they safe in the snow? Does the rubber make it slippery?

My family are planning to learn how to ski at the snowdome. I told my mum that we should have a 2hr lesson instead of the 55 min lesson because we will learn more. My mum (who has been skiing before) said that it will be boring and we should just have the 55 min lesson and then go on to the recreational slope. However, Is this allowed? are you allowed to go on the recreational slope after just one basic lesson???

I have a second home in a ski resort so I'm going to be skiing a lot. Last year I went and got my own boots, skis, and polls. I went to a place called surefoot which did a custom mold of my feet. Supposedly it was supposed to hurt when I was breaking in my boots, but it was supposed to be comfortable after that.

I skied for a week or so last year and have skied about a week this year and the bottom of my feet still hurt, especially my right foot. It doesn't hurt as much when I'm actually skiing as when I'm just standing there or in the chair lift.

Should I take the boot back and ask them to adjust it or should I give it more time? Do you think I should try a thicker sock or anything?

I have a bit of a problem. I want to go skiing today but i don't have a ride to the mountain. My other option is to take transit to the mountain. I can't find a bag big enough to hold my boots so I am wondering if its okay if I wear the boots outside on the concrete and stuff.

Alright this isn't a question about how to wax skis. But rather, I purchased a pair of used skis today from a consignment store and I am wondering whether i need them waxed or not. Are there any visual signs that I can look for? The bottom of skis is black. Please help me out as I am pretty new to this.

I have a pair of Lange X09's right now. I've had them for quite a while. I think it's about time to upgrade. What should I look for when buying new boots. There are sooo many to chose from. Will I get a boot that is the same quality if I spend $200 for a pair that is on sale opposed to a $700 pair.

This is kind of a lame shot and I stole it off of Beaver Creek's website. How's my form? I feel like I look like somebody from a lame Ski School Ad. I'm on a fairly easy slope, but what do you think?

Does anyone know of a reputable ski/snowboard equipment rental shop between Hunter Mountain and Kingston, NY? I found pleanty listed in the yellow pages, just looking for a place someone has actually used and been happy with, I'm guessing prices for rentals are basically the same from shop to shop in that area?

Yesterday, my 13 yr old daughter went skiing for the first time, in the Lancaster area (we live in the So.CA Santa Clarita Valley). SHE LOVED IT & is a natural....and of course, wants MORE. However it is pretty expensive, huh? Any suggestions of great places to ski w/in a 1-2-3 hour driving distance & if it's possible to get discounts, the best times to go, and other info. Tx. very much.

So I'm going skiing in Switzerland on Sunday, staying in Pontresina near St Moritz. I'm a beginner skiier, having only been on dry for 10 hours, fake snow for 2 hours, and real snow for 1.5 days. I was wondering what lift pass would be ideal to get, bearing in mind I have a limited budget, and hence the £110 one for a big valley isn't ideal for me.
