I skied for a little while, then i snowboarded
so i have a pretty good comparison
snowboarding is a lot funner then skiing

skiing always felt boring but snowboarding never gets boring
WARNING!!!!!
there is a higher risk for injury while snowbarding

go with the snow board. You will find that the board is much easier to pick up. But... you should at least get a group lesson to pick up the basics t he first day. and no. Going to the top of Summit with no experience on the board is not a good idea. Its and easy hill but get your feet wet before you go to the top.;

Big Bear is infected with beginer snowboarders so I think it would be a good fit.

Always try new things.

Go ahead. I'm sure I'll be calling your wreck into the Ski Patrol.

I'll be surprised if you make it to the bottom of the Magic Carpet.
