I personally think it will soon develop a gravitational pull and he will no longer be able to bat because any baseballs thrown in his direction will automatically move away from the plate and be drawn toward his head, where they will go into orbit...They will stay up there, just spinnin' round and round until they crash into something
...Umpires and catchers will have to stand way off the plate, and I'm afraid some little kid wanting an autograph will be killed if Barry leans toward them

Just wanted to know fellow martial artists opinions on Aikido.
Having trained in Boxing,shukokai/shotokan karate,lau gar kung fu.
I investigated Aikido and jiu-jitsu in 1989 and was very impressed with the demo of Aikido I attended at the time but chose jiu-jitsu as at the time I felt it more practical for the street but recall when I fought freestyle in karate I tended to favour evasion and counter attacks hence my curiosity in aikido back then.
I still have the urge to begin studying Aikido but wonder if my age would work against me re: reflex evasion as I’ve not done any martial arts training in over 3yrs I’m 44yrs old and admittedly unfit at present although I’m quite keen.

Your thoughts please

yea so i wuz thinkin mayb wwe setup orton to lose so they can have a main event at unforgiven between him and triple h considering his return at summerslam what are your thoughts? but man i was so sure orton would win lastnight im so sick of cena i meand dont get me wrong hes cool but damn there comes a time to step down wwe is just playing him out like a song on the radio oh well the match is over so w/e orton is still the best though imo

If any of these southern teams ever start to dry up and decide to go back to hockey's core part of the continent, what towns spark your fancy for relocation? I'm kind of against expanding the NHL, but I think moving some teams to the snowier parts of the US or Canada would help the sport. I like the ideas of Winnipeg or one of Wisconsin's bigger towns (Green Bay or Milwaukee). Let me know what you think.

If the USGA won't allow Casey Martin to use a cart, why don't they step in and prevent public courses from mandating the use of carts?

I'm not saying everyone has to walk, but if you want to walk and play, you should at least have the option.

First of all, I want to say Michael Vick should be punished for his actions, I don't condone any illegal acts that he was involved with!!! NOW.....
The house that Michael Vick owned, got raided for drugs and they stummbled into the "Bad Newz Kennel" Operation. Do you think that the United States Government is actually concerned about dogfighting or do you think there might be more to this story that we don't know about!?
I personally think that they are using Michael to get to the "ring leader" of the drugs, not the dogfighting.
Does anyone have the same opinion or am I going to get the same, "Michael Vick is a killer, he should be banned from the NFL and sent to prison for life answers?"

I'm interested in a basic entry-level road bike (a touring bike, I guess? I want at least racks and possibly panniers later). I ride pretty much daily 35 miles and will mostly want it for commuting, but also for longer weekend trips.

I've read other questions regarding similar bike interests. I just want to ask if people have any strong opinions about the lower-end bikes such as Trek 1000's, Giant OCR's, even those Dawes bikes that I've seen on bikesdirect.com. If I were going to get one of these, are there major reasons why I might choose one over the other?

I definitely want something I can hopefully set up fenders and racks on, commuting in Seattle. I ride in the rain and currently get soaked pretty bad in the rain, but hopefully will change this...

I need to be able to run track in november. And they run like 2-3 miles everyday. But i can't even get through half a mile right now!!
