The balance of Yankee and Red Sox fans on here would likely be really one-sided. There are plenty of great Yankees fans who will stay through thick and thin, but I think we'd see a repeat of earlier this year when the Yankees struggles had a direct correlation with the number of Yankees fans on this site.
Also, the networks would hate to see a market like Seattle in the playoffs ahead of one like New York.

Life as we know it would go on just like your life as a Detroit Tiger fan went on after not winning a World Series since when, 1984 & wasn't last year the first winning season for the Tigers, in how many years? Face the facts buddy, the Yankees will always be better than your Tigers. Last year the Tigers won more games than the Yankees, 1991. I have been a baseball fan since 1970, the first year in little league & I believe the Yankees have had a winning season every year except for maybe 5 or 6. Check the stats buddy & see how years the number 100 comes up, victories for the Yankees & losses for the Tigers. Hate the Yankees all you want but facts are facts, Yankees will always better than the Detroit Tigers. Go Yankees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, it would be called the year 2007, cause that will indeed happen.
First thing would be someone getting fired, and my bet is Torre. I would fire Cashmen, but it will be Torre.
second, the yankees will go out, and get almost every big name free agent on the market. Santana: Pinstripes, and that goes for A-Rod too, he won't be opting out of anything, and if he does, he is a smart man, because the yankees are going to be willing to pay for all those homers no matter what. Then they will go out and try to trade for some of this seasons award winners, probably trading away their future in Phil Hughes, and Melky Cabrera in the process, but hey, the yankees don't need a farm team anymore, they have money. They will do all of this, and then still lose to the Red Sox, and Big old georgie won't know what to do. Thankfully for him, he doesn't have that many years left in his life, so he won't have to watch the Sox beat up on his $50 billion dollar team for too long.

Yankee fans will only become Red Sox fans under one condition: That of the 1986 World Series, Red Sox vs. Mets. And you probably know how THAT turned out.

I would be very upset for about a week. Then I would get into Pro Football, watch a little Basketball, some Hockey, and by then I would be getting ready for the new Yankee season.

Idk. I'll be pretty upset. I have never seen te Yankees not make the playoffs. But the Yankees are due to not make it. Every team has their moments. I guess this is the Yankees' time. I'll take it like a man and not blame it on anything or throw a hissy fit. We'll be nasty when my boy Joba Chamberlain is in the rotation. Future Rotation - Hughes, Chamberlain, Kennedy, Horne, Wang..we also have Dellin Betances getting ready down in A ball. We just need some bullpen help and some minor league hitting help. I'm not worried about them at all. Last I checked, your Tigers may not even make the playoffs. =D

i would feel bored in October because I'm use to seeing the Yankees in October but i will move and hope for the best in 2008 but i also have a life i can concentrate on more important things and i think Jeter, Posada, Rivera will have to find a hobby or something because they have been the postseason since they started their mlb careers

Look for low ratings.
Do you remember the 2,128 people that watched the White Sox vs. Astros World Series? The least watched World Series of all time.
As much as people hate the Yankees MLB needs them in the post season to draw money.

I expect there to be a reoccurance of the Black Plague. You will see new born Frogs with 5 legs. The Sun will turn a lighter shade of pale. The oceans will dry up. Hieneken Beer will taste less filing. Life as we know will cease.
