To me, living in Atlanta, he's a disgrace to the team... but... I wanna hear the opinion of non-Atlantians.

Living in Atlanta, I have to say that we are ashamed of the kind of BARBARIC CRAP that he was involved with. Dogfighting? What the hell?? What kind of a BEAST does something so atrocious to a dog?? And don't give me that crap like "Those dogs are violent in nature." Please. They are not. I myself have a pitbull that wouldn't hurt a damn fly, let alone another dog. I swear to God, whatever it is in my house that has anything to do with Vick or even the Falcons, I'm burning it.

I've been aroun pits all my life, and except for the ones that were trained to be violent or abused.....they were all sweethearts. About as friendly as they come. Same with Rotties ( although with theur size, they can cause some problems).

The only breeds I have ever noticed with a dangerous streak have been Dobies ( usually because of inbreeding), and Chows ( don't know why, but they have been some of the meanest dogs I have ever met)

But as for my POV about the Vick case....?

I think it is being handled correctly, and actually they are going slower prosecuting him then normal. Everything he has been hit by is totally legal, and it looks like he is going to get the low end of the sentencing. So why are people saying it's a race conspiracy? Pete Rose is white, and wiil never be allowed to coach or do anything relatd to MLB again.....so how is Vick being singled out?

Even better, about blacks being made example of.....How about R. kelly? th edude commited stat rape 4 years ago, and they still haven't moved past the prelimaries.....so he is singled out how, again?

and as for the financial part............ he signed an agreement to uphold a certain standard of conduct when he joined the NFL....as Goodell has shown this year....anyone, white or black that steps outta line is gonna get hit. So Vick broke his agreement, and thereby lost any claim on the money? and?

Miss.....you said it best.... the guy is a disgrace. Thank you for standing up and saying so.

*Josh H...he wasn't man enough to admit anything....he only rolled to save his own butt after his friend rolled on him.....if he was a man about it he wouldn't have lied in the first place.
AND would people stop calling it a mistake?

This was not a misunderstanding, but calculated cruelty for 6 years at least......if it was poor reasoning Vivk would have to be the dumbest person alive.

It causes quite a stir. On one hand you have a guy who killed dogs, bet on dogs, made dogs fight. On the other hand you have...what? Its only news because he's famous. Plenty of other people went down for the same thing, but since they weren't famous and didn't get the coverage, people seem to think this is all brand new and the feds are singling Vick out. We all like to see someone go down for some reason or another. We are jealous of someone for their talent and feel better when we can put ourselves above them. He is really no different than Hilton, Lohan, Spears, OJ, M Jackson.\

I'm not ready to buy into his apology just yet. Time will tell on that one. I remember OJ saying he would not rest until the real killers were found, but he seems to be focusing his search only to resorts and golf courses.

Saddest part of all is all of us. We all have this self righteous opinion on the matter and are hell bent to let people know how right we are. We are passionate about this issue. Then the next crisis will come along and Vick will be dropped like a hot rock and we will all be passionate and self righteous about that subject, whatever it may be.

Funny how it is in that when a celebrity goes down, it somehow brings out the worst in so many people.

Super V, I totally agree with you. I live in Atlanta too, and I agree, the majority of this city is horrified at what Michael Vick has done. I wish I could have gone to the game tonite to support the Falcons, though. I just couldn't get it worked out, but I sure hope there are lots of people there. But let's get ready to at least watch the game on TV, and cheer for Joey Harrington. It would be just so apropos if Joey works out well for the Falcons. I am crossing my fingers.

And..I agree with you about pit bulls. They are wonderful animals, being abused by horrible people who not only are fighting them and torturing them, but ruining the dog's reputation in the process. It is so sad, but you can't tell the public anything. They hear a pit bull has attacked someone and that's all they hear. They don't think about that sick piece of crap that trained the dog to be vicious. They don't know about how loving and loyal a pit bull is, if it has been brought up in a loving home.

Ok girl, lets GO FALCONS!!!

I agree with you 100% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's a idiot... he gambled on not getting caught and he lost.. poor baby..... oh well, NOBODY made him pick the choices he did.. now he can live with what he did... he only later admitted he was involved when he was basically forced in a corner.. what a man... I hope he loses everything in his life that matters most to him... as long as he still is able to breathe thats more than what he gave those innocent dogs..

and YES I own 2 pit bulls... and Michael Vick is capable of being more harmful and hurtful than my 2 dogs are...

I hope the only way he gets to play football again is in someones back yard... and I hope if he doesnt perform up to their standards he gets the same thing done to him that he did to those dogs..

****I know someone on here will probably call me a b*** or something for my OPINION.... trust me I wont be losing any sleep over it tonight *******

Im a non atlantian and I believe he should be banned from the NFL for good. I grew up with dogs and know for a fact they have feelings very similiar to us humans. What vick did is a step away from killing a person. That was complete BS that he would be this much of a cruel idiot. I used to like the guy....great player fun to watch.....but I say ban him for good. Dogs are mans best friend...proven fact, and the way he killed those dogs really ticks me off. He's getting his deserved punishment, but I'm not going to kick him while he's down. I hope that he's truly remorseful, and that he learns from the experience. I doubt he'll be back in the NFL (it could be five years from now after jail time and suspensions), but I hope he does his best to carry on with his life.

Also, I don't think his behavior is any reflection of the Falcons' organization. I'm not a fan of the team, but I don't hold his crimes against the franchise.

Vick did the crime. He should do the time. When he is released, if his old job (quarterback?) will have have him, he should be able to - just like anybody else. But, I know lots and lots of places that will not employ an ex-con due to security reasons. Vick has tainted himself with the "gambling" stench. I doubt that it will ever wear off.

Good for you. I live in Florida and also own a very loving pit bull and 3 other breeds from a chihuahua to a german sheperd. And yes, he's a disgrace here too.

I think his case has gotten all the publicity he needs--he's the newest Paris Hilton, and I'm tired of all the articles and headlines about him.
As to his punishment, I agree with a midnight d.j. who said Michael Vick should be locked up and fed only dog food from China.

I think he should be hosed down with water and electrocuted just like he and his "friends" did to the dogs.

He should also be reminded that dogs are loyal forever more than we can say about his friends that were so willing to sell him out to save themselves.

Yes I am a proud dog lover.
