Does anyone else think they should have other compititions at the all star game besides the home run durby. I would like to see a fastest around the bases compitition. Or have the players throw into a net or something from the outfield to see who has to best arm.

The moment the game went from exhibition to high stakes the fans should cease to be involved in making decisions. Since home field is on the line I think it is very wrong of baseball to let fans make decisions.

I do think fans do have the right to a vote in an exhibition but this is clearly not the case anymore. People have jumped on me because they say the game is for the fans and while it is it has not been an EXHIBITION for quite a while now. A sports exhibition does not count for anything but clearly it does in this case.

One reason why the players voted in Manny is because those players feel he is a great hitter and he gives them one of the better chances of winning. If this was a true exhibition with nothing on the line Manny probably would not have been selected by the players. He still won't play because he has stated before he prefers not to play during the break. But clearly some of the players decisions send a clear message.

GET RID OF THIS STUPID HOME FIELD CRAP!

I've noticed that a lot people seem to dislike him. I've always wondered why. He always speaks well of his opponents (that I've seen). He's a great driver or he wouldn't have as many wins as he does. So, just curious.
BTW: I'm a new fan to NASCAR. If your answer is that he cheats, I think the NASCAR governing bodies would see that and disqualify him form that race. So, that will be an unaccaptable answer for me. Othe guys do things that are disciplined and get fined and so forth, too.

...and other pathways that are used by runners and walkers, do you call out, "On your left!", when you pass from behind??
FYI: You're supposed to. I'm a runner and when I'm out there on the trails for 10 miles or even longer...RUNNING...it is PRETTY annoying when some weekend-warrior type bike rider ZOOMS past me without any acknowledgement. Can you understand what I'm saying? ....It is a courtesy and a safety precaution. (I’ve even seen this stupid biker once come up fast, down a hill right past a guy on his HORSE without calling out before hand!!)
*So, yes, if you DON'T call out "On your left!" or "Passing on your left" or whatever... please BEGIN to....
