WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE?

Don't watch baseball then or stop your whining.

Not too many people say Barry didn't use steriods. I say that 1) he says he didn't knowingly use anything illegal 2) he hasn't tested positive and 3) where is your outrage for the other (proven) steroid users? 4) Who cares? Anyone asking Aaron about the uppers in the coffee or Ruth about the alcohol in the dugout or Strawberry about the cocaine? A little consistency. If everyone was treated with the same amount of hate, then I'd be less inclined to defend Barry. But there is a witchhunt that includes the federal government. Like they don't have anything better to do, like finding bin Laden or hunting down sleeper cells or fixing schools.

Because in this country its supposed to be innocent till proven guilty, not guilty till proven innocent. What pisses me off most about all this bonds stuff, is all these sports writers want baseball cleaned up right. Well these are the same guys praising mcguire, sosa, bonds, palmero, and so on when they were hitting all these homers. Everyone knew, even tony gwinn admitted to knowing players do this but like he said it wasn't illeagle at the time, gms knew, coaches knew, hell im sure selig knew too. So if it wasn't such a big secret in the club house how the hell didnt these sports writers who are in the clubhouse before and after the game know. I think its a crock of sh it how they treat sosa, mcguire and bonds now. These so call experts of writing on sports are the biggest hypocrits in the game.

Everyone gets bigger over time. Kirby Puckett is a prime example, we know he didn't use roids and he got way bigger. Just about everyone gets bigger from lets say the end of high school and now he's 40....Also, has he ever tested positive for steroids? Didn't think so.

I don't say he didn't use steroids. I do feel that the media & some fans act as if he's the only one that has done it but in the meantime met fans for example who booed bonds at shea where the same hypocrites who cheered for Mota who was caught red handed using steroids.

If you look at pictures of him from year to year he is the one guy in this probe that DID NOT blow up in one year as you suggest, he has steadily gotten bigger over the years. Have you ever thought that maybe baseball over expanding bringing in AAA pitchers to the majors may have helped him a little? Peruse his gallery and see the pictures of him from day one to now and tell me that he blew up in one season, it is untrue. Just because you hate someone do not condmen that person and spew false statements. He may have taken steroids but he has never been proven to have taken anything. If you read the illegally leaked grand jury testimony he did not even admit in there, they described it him and he told them what was given to him and what he did with it.

I defend Bonds for two reasons:

First, he was a great power hitter when he came into the Major Leagues....

Second, it's not like he's the only one to use steroids....a whole bunch of players used them, and STILL couldn't put up the numbers Bonds has. No matter how many drugs you take, it simply won't help you hit a 98MPH fastball....it just won't!

I'm not saying he is the greatest player ever, but he certainly belongs in the conversation for the numbers he has put up....steroid inflated or not!

If he used, then it happened while steroids were not banned or illegal for use in baseball. That does not make him a criminal. He grew due to growth enhancing hormones, which were not illegal at the time, but did not help him hit HR's.

Steroids will make your eyesight crap, will kill you, will make you crazy and will tighten up your muscles so that you would not be able to swing a bat properly.

Skyhawk hit it right on the head

the people defending him are those that are in denial

just like (myself included) the peopel who defend the yankees payroll even tho we know they outgross the next team (Boston) by 50 Mil

but thats not the point. the fact is people have feelings for bonds (mostly Giants fans) and they wont admit to it jsut yet

And Jon: come on! POWER HITTER WHEN HE ENTERED THE LEAGUE

you gotta be shittin me. he hit mid20 HR for his first 5 or 6 years. how is that a power hitter?????

and no, roids dont help you hit a ML fastball. but thats why he made the big sin the first place. because he could hit a ML fastball. but roids WILL help you hit that ball harder and farther. thats a fact

The only thing any of us can say with absolute certainty is that Bonds never failed a drug test. Anything beyond that is pure speculation, so have at it.

i have been a giants fan since i could remember. barry bonds came to the giants and i loved him. he was my idol.

well that all went down the drain. everyone here is right when they say he has never had a positive test. but from the information provided barry did do steriods. period point blank.

mark mcguire, jose conseco, palmiero, and many others

some one please tell me why mark mcguire didnt go to the hall of fame? (steriods had a big part in it.)

jose conseco has balls enough to come out and say hey i love this game so i am going to let you all know who is cheating including myself whatever the consequences may be. we all know what he lost by that. (his book is good he made $$$)

(honestly havent heard much on palmiero)

but what makes bonds different from them? oh that he is an asshole. (when he wasnt i loved him) that he is about to break the homerun record. (steriods help you focus more on the ball so that you can hit your balls farther)

i mean seriously keeping barry in the game is helping the mlb make money. everyone wants to get that chance to be at a game that barry hits another run. if its here in san fran or it be in ny.

note to person who compared it to OJ. umm yeah in case you forgot OJ went through trail and was proven to be innocent.
(not saying he is......just letting you know)

and swingman not only giants fans have feelings for bonds.. baseball fans will love to be at a game and see barry hit a homerun to beat the record. i think that anyone would love to catch a ball hit by him and have to be escorted out of the park and then sell it on ebay for xxx, xxx, xxx, xxx! come on now!
