Joe Calzaghe displays incredible speed, but most of his opponents seem to say they are "PITTY PAT" shots...... Myself, the first time I ever saw or heard of Joe was against "Left hook" Lacy and I was in AWWW .. He totally dominated Lacy. I expected the opposite (an early Lacy win). Calzaghe is quickly becoming my all time favorite, as am I realizing he deserves to be. Could it be "PITTY PAT" with such an impressive record, I just don't see how. What do you think? 10-8-6 for the Top-3. Why in the hell should a driver get 8 pts. for finishing second?

I think it rewards early season results far too much. If the pt. spread between the race winner and the bloke in second is 2-pts, then it's hard to close an early season gap, even if you dominate the second-half of the season.

I think the old 10-6-4 scoring is better. The point of the championship is to win races, not finish second and collect a massive 8 pts. Any comments?

i think any system that is so complex you are waiting for the mathematicians to reveal who has finished where, after the final round of games..doesnt allow the spectators and followers of the tournament to participate fully in the excitement as the finale approaches

what are the merits of the these scenarios.

1. the winning team earns a run ratio of the runs they scored divided by the wickets they lost

ie: 300 for 3 earns a ratio of 100 losers score zero
250 for 5 earns a ratio of 50 losers score zero
360 for 6 earns a ratio of 60 losers score zero

if the same team had won all three above matches their run ratio would be 70 [ie 100 +50+60= 210 divided by 3]

alternatively, if a value could be determined& assigned for one wicket..in terms of its value when set against runs..then the winning team could get two points for a win

Recently, Greg Oden's father announced that his son will turn pro this year. According to reports, Mike Conley Sr., the man who hopes to eventually be Greg Oden's agent, said that although Oden may very well enter the NBA, nothing is finalized. Mr. Conley downplayed Greg Oden's father's comments, stating, "I talk to (Greg's) mother every day, and I talk to (Ohio State coach) Thad Matta every day, and if Thad Matta and his mother and I don't know, then how can anyone else know?"

This statement seems extremely presumptuous. Greg Oden, along with his mother and father, and probably his college coach, have the biggest influence on Greg Oden's future. But Mr. Conley seems to take priority over Greg Oden's father when he asks "...if Thad Matta and his mother and I don't know, then how can anyone else know?" Is it that hard to imagine family members deciding things before potential agents get involved? this is a non-story...a hopeful agent, denying claims, yet conceding it may happen
