Recently, Greg Oden's father announced that his son will turn pro this year. According to reports, Mike Conley Sr., the man who hopes to eventually be Greg Oden's agent, said that although Oden may very well enter the NBA, nothing is finalized. Mr. Conley downplayed Greg Oden's father's comments, stating, "I talk to (Greg's) mother every day, and I talk to (Ohio State coach) Thad Matta every day, and if Thad Matta and his mother and I don't know, then how can anyone else know?"

This statement seems extremely presumptuous. Greg Oden, along with his mother and father, and probably his college coach, have the biggest influence on Greg Oden's future. But Mr. Conley seems to take priority over Greg Oden's father when he asks "...if Thad Matta and his mother and I don't know, then how can anyone else know?" Is it that hard to imagine family members deciding things before potential agents get involved? this is a non-story...a hopeful agent, denying claims, yet conceding it may happen

If Greg Oden was going pro he would come out and have an announcment, i assume if he had already made his decision he is waiting for Conley to make his so they can announce it together whatever they plan on doing. I dont see hoe Greg Oden's father can say he is going yet his mother says he is undecided, along with his coach, along with his best friend and his best friends father who will likely be his agent. Is it that hard to imagine that maybe Gregs father wants Greg to make alot of money so that he can move into a big house, so he assumes going to the paper early and saying Greg is leaving may make Greg leave anyway. I dont claim to have any idea whats going on. I am just saying i have a good feeling that there is alot more to this story than we all may know, and that we will have it all figured out by April 29 at midnight. You can argue for either side, im just saying that either way you look at it, nothing that is said matters untill Greg Oden comes out in a press conference and says "I am going to the NBA and forgoing my sophmore season at OSU" Untill that happens im assuming he is undecided.

O id also like to ad that Greg Oden Sr. said that Mike Conley is likely going to go into the draft to, now how would he know that and Mike Conley Sr. doesnt?

If I was greg I would stay because he would probably win the championship if conley stays which he will. If he wins the championship he can brag about that, it will help him prepare for the NBA, and it will make him more marketable. Also if he has a career ending injury at OSU he still has a $10,000,000 insurance policy for this.

But idk maybe his dad wants him to go to the NBA and get big money because even if he has a career ending injury $10,000,000 would be nothing compared to what he would make in the NBA. ALso if he were hurt at OSU he would never make it to the NBA and he would have worked so hard for nothing.

Uh...I think the NCAA should look into Conley...because how does anyone know he is not his agent...It won't matter if he IS declaring, which I predict he will...
