No way. With the absence of Shaq, Kobe's game has completely changed to a jump-shooting one. He's basically a perimeter shooting 2 guard now. Just ask Penny Hardaway. The same thing happened to him. As the main guy, Kobe has gone 110-111 (losing record) as a starter since Shaq left. Many #1's on their team have put up numbers without making their teammates better players. I'm sorry Kobe lovers but that is exactly what Kobe is doing right now. Nash, LeBron, Nowitzki, and Shaq are all better at making the players around them better. The Heat are horrendous without Shaq. They are 35-39 (.472 winning %) without him since he has been with the Heat. With him they are 120-50 (.706 winning %) - quite a differential.
And as far as total numbers over the last 3 seasons, both LeBron and Garnett have posted better numbers. Kobe has averaged more points in the last 3 yrs, but LeBron has averaged more Rebounds, Assists, Blocks, a higher Ast to TO Ratio, and a higher FG% by 2.5%.
So if LeBron's stats are better, and his team is better, what other category is there to look at? Maybe you can look at how they make their teammates better. Even in that category, LeBron gets the nod. So let me get this right. LeBron puts up better total numbers, his team is better, and he makes his teammates better, yet Kobe is a better player??????
Can you please give me the category you're looking at in your observation?
Just b/c a guy tries to chew his gum like Jordan, tries to walk like Jordan, and tries to do hand signals like Jordan, it doesn't mean that he's the next Michael Jordan.

Kobe is probably the best player in the league. He has a good outside and inside game. Can drive and slash, create shots and spot shoot. He's even a good defender. The he MAY be the best player, he is not the leagues MVP.

YES
Kobe is unstopable, he does what he wants when he wants. and he stuts ppl down on defense. There is nobody else in the league that shoots, dribbles, passes( he may not do it a lot but he is a great passer), finishes, plays defense(not that shif over in zone or stickin with ur man in man 2 man, im talkin about playin on the ball when the other team calls an iso play against you and has atleticism like kobe all in one package.

we'll see if he wins the MVP. i think he is an awesome scorer but best player, doubtful. Nash has been the best player in the league for 2 years running and going for a 3rd. how can a player be called "the best" and not win the MVP?

Yep. Completely unstoppable. No one can guard the guy the only way he is stopped is if he has a bad game or feels like getting others involved. He could average 40 points a game if he really wanted.

No LeBron, Nash, Wade, Nowitzki are all well-rounded players. KObe scores, these guys do everything. Please no remarks about LeBrons defense because if he sucks so bad at it why is he ranked #10 in steals?

Absolutely no, the kid is talented, but Lebron is better, Steve Nash is the best in the league, Duncan is up there, Dwade is going to be better.
