Why no one reacts seriously when India fails in Olympics ?

Did u know that cricket has it largest fan base in India? I think dat answered ur question. There are two type of celecreties in India : movie stars and cricket stars.
In Guyana and the rest of the Caribbean we love cricket a whole lot too, i mean ,usually boys and girls grow up playing cricket....so every1 here is more into it than the olympics...generally speaking.
We give out hearts to the game and when the Windies lose without even trying, without giving a **** then our hearts get broken....i know the Windies got potential, y r'nt they using it?!?!

Cricket is the so called religion in the subcontinent and the whole world knows it.This sport has overshadowed all other sports so much that they are struggling to remain known even in India.For example everyone knows a certain JP Yadav who played some games for the cricket team but very few would be knowing Achanta Sharath Kamal who worked wonders in the Commonwealth Games.Cricket is getting a lot of media glare which it does not deserve.The simple answer to the above question is that as people get to know only about cricket they give a lot of attention to this sport.Othes games and their patrons are left to decay.

India fails in Olympic since these players are neither given good remuneration , nor facilities and training. They are treated shabbily. They are poor.
In contrast the cricket players are rich beyond imagination, own palatial apartments, expensive cars, and spend lavishly. They do not even 10% what other country players attempt. That is the reason.

Because expectations from players in Olympics are very less as compared to cricket. In cricket everybody expect India to win the world cup although India is ranked 6th in ODI.

There are most fans of cricket than the Olympics fans .
Cricket has been made influence on india . Olympic culture is does not growing in india . So nobody watches olympics instead of cricket !

IT is because the sportsmen who fail to perform in olympics dont get enough infastructure or financial assistance.whereas the cricketers get more than enough and the net result is they cannt be even the no.one amoungst 10 to 15 countries.

Becuase indians love cricket more !! the more you love a game ,the more you get senstive or i should say emotional about it...and thats why they show more towards cricketers !

because media dont give a s*** about other sports and fans dont even know who is gopi chand or maleshveri devi before they won something big..
