All people, even the most wise and compassionate, struggle with pre-judging people based on their looks, culture, and religion.

Have you ever felt negative thoughts toward a certain religion (prejudice), only to find your views changed when you got to know someone from that particular faith? If so, why do you feel your views changed?

Or...have you ever developed a friendship with someone who had a negative view of your religion...that is, until they met you?

Peace be with you.

Is christian doctrine decided by popular vote?

The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin.

Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:1,4-5)

We are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. (Deuteronomy 14:1)

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. (Psalms 82:6)

Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: (Isaiah 42:5)

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. (Ecclesiastes 12:7)

I heard that after horizontally rotating the coca cola logo and slightly re-adjusting it, you get a message in Arabic which says No Mohammed, No Mecca. Is it true? If it is, then did coca cola company intentionally do this???

(In case you are wondering, I am neither.)

Some people suggest that it's like God is a four or five dimensional being, and can manipulate time, matter, much like we can manipulate a piece of parer.

But even we did not create the materials that the paper was made from.

If God was somewhere at some time, where did he get the material from to create the universe?

Is everything really imaginary, and not real - we are just the active product of a higher dimensional beings imagination?

Some cosmic "Matrix?"

I mean, I know that Christians will say that The Bible says God is, such and such, but that doesn't address even one hint of the question. How, scientifically, can something come from nothing?

...but were instead symbolic? Wouldn't that explain why they are now lost? Seriously, if knowing which 'tribe' you were from was important to people, and these tribes actually existed, descendants today would know what tribe they are from too regardless of Babylonian exile.

I have a son with my husband of 2 years, we are expecting our second child in Feb and are excited, our first son is only 11 months old. So heres the problem. I have never considered myself to be a religious person, infact I consider myself to be quite against it. I don't try to force my ways on others but my husband was the same way until he went to jail and started to go to bible study for something to do. Now he talks about introducing this new found religion to our boys and i'm very much against it. He said as the father he should be able to decide. He brings up the fact that I was raised Catholic and even went to catholic school. I don't where I got this hate for god I just do and now we are constantly fighting and I'm ready to get a divorce. I don't think thats the right option though, my vows said for better or worse and he is the father I just don't know what to do about the church thing. Can anyone help me out with this? I'm not going to accept god so please don't suggest that.

Need some help in marriage dept. I am having such a hard time being a SWEET, submissive wife. I understand wht it means to be submissive (does not by any means being a slave). But no matter how many book i read (and i have read a lot) I still can not grasp the concept of submission.
Now my husband is 17 years younger than me, that may have something to do with it, i really dont think thats it. I am a new creature in Christ, still being molded.
I just dont want to let my husband lead.
ANY ADVISE, LADIES?

I'm doing a paper on handedness and right brain thinking. Ive run into a quite handful of religious literature, explaining how there are a few people born through the ages left handed, because they have been singled out as evil and a child of the devil, destined for eternal torment.
Also, that they are fallen angels, and they have deep insight and views about alot of things most people don't care or think of, that they must come down to earth to prove their worthiness or at least accomplish something worthwhile -- and this is why most left handed people are perfectionistic and creative.
There is also scientific studies that seem to show correlation betwwen left handedness and homosexuality, left handedness and immune disorders, list goes on an on.
First of all I KNOW this is not true,
but I think that if you read enough of the literature out there you might subtly have your brain tricked into at least wondering about it. So has anyone else given some thought to it besides me?

I am a former christian. In middle school and elementary school I was a staunch christian who did not understand how others could not believe in God and Jesus. I am now a diest. I found the christian faith to be hypocritical (forgive all people and do not judge yet christians judge gays and people who get abortions). I also know that the bible has been altered to suit the desires of kings and other ancient powerful people. Not to mention the problems withe bible (If Adam and Eve were the only people on Eath and they had children, how did Abel find other people?). I also believe in evolution and have seen how it makes more sense then creationism. Anyway-I was wondering if these reasons are why (if you are a former christian) you left the faith?

The article linked above mentions that there are health benefits to be had from a monthly fast. The article also points out that Mormons fast every month, and this caused me to wonder... Do any other religions teach their followers to fast regularly, and if so, which ones?

I want to know how many 'Dwaars' or openings our physical body has through which it interacts with the outer atmosphere and surroundings. This strictly in terms of energy (spiritual and yogic) exchange/reception/dispersion by an individual. Somewhere I heard that our physical body is also referred as "Navadwarapuri", so I want to know what are those.

Hope to get some really insightful answers!

I recently understand that when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord that He also was water baptized for us. That is why when the thief on the cross confessed he was a sinner, that Jesus was innocent & confessed Jesus Lord & King, that Jesus said to this thief, "Today you will be with me in paradise.". The thief was then made the righteousness of Christ. He is the first person who was born of God, receiving the atonement for his sins & made the righteousness of Christ.

(I do believe we should be water baptized in obedience to Jesus when we confess Jesus Lord & believe in our heart He raised from the dead.)
