I like the Catholics. At least they have one answer for everything. Ask a protestant a question you always get 3 answers in return.
Oh yeah, I was raised agnostic, sorry for jumping in on your question.

I was raised Catholic. I went to Catholic elementary and high school. I gradually lost my faith through my years as a young adult. Today I don't believe in the super natural. But I am spiritual. I am trying to figure it out. Christianity represents some beautiful things as does Buddhism. Sometimes I think the super natural elements are too much a distraction from those beautiful ideas of humanity.

Raised Catholic, so was my husband. We are not non-Christians. We are Christian - as in accept Jesus as our Savior, but no longer attend the Catholic church. We consider ourselves Methodists if talking organized denomination, but that never has been what Christianity is really about, just the family we choose to be part of within the larger family - like the Smiths or Joneses or Esteruas, separate families, all part of the human race.

The Catholic Church is notorious for driving people away from Christianity. I think a lot of it has to do with it being religious and dogmatic. Plus it is hard to ignore its history. This is not a knock on Catholics, just the corrupt system of Roman Catholicism.

I should point out that Catholics run a lower risk of de-converting away from Christianity, because Catholicism is the least oppressive and the sect of Christianity that is most open to change.
I've never seen one come to my door and try proselytize me. Protestants are an entirely different story.

I was. Then I was agnostic for many years, reconverted, then became a Southern Baptist for many years before finally breaking free.

I do not practice Catholicism, but I still believe in it. Does that make me fall into the parameters of your question?
