Do we, people of prayer, and also all those who care about "saving the earth", need to pray about the incredible disappearing mountains of ice in Canada's north?

A huge glassier, the size of our giant province of Ontario, disappeared in Canada's Arctic north in 2007?

Is this ecology news story from Canada the biggest off all news stories in the world this year?

Have you noticed the global warming news happening, here in Canada, THIS year?
Have you noticed the odd news happening here in Canada in 2007?

This was a recent story in a major US paper about the ecology of Canada's arctic region...

I don't know about anyone else, but the Bible I read says I'm not allowed to hate anyone.

We war NOT against flesh and blood...but against powers and principalities and spiritual wickedness in high places...

We are NOT allowed to hate another human being, for we are all made in the image of God. Am I wrong? Then prove me wrong, please, with Bible verses.

i can't believe ppl's ignorance. i seriously got this reply from somebody on one of my questions about ppl's opinions on gay marriage. "Back in the time before jesus christ even entered this earth as a messiah no religion was recognised or used concerning marriage yes they had god's they had worshipped but that didnt deter marriage of any kind , there were no prejeduces like today , no church nor man has a right to judge love and marriage." they say this but in the old testament, leviticus says if a man sleeps with another man like he would with a woman, he is to be put to DEATH.

I sometimes get these dreams that I'm ascending to heaven but then get cast down. I'm a very ambitious person and wish to be powerful one day. Could this be a sign of the next Anti-Christ. Would you like to be the one that controls the world for 7 years but go to hell upon death? There are people in Hell right now who are nothing and at least you would've lived and had power in life if you were the one. What do you think?

I see this theocracy fear posed by alot of nonchristians and was wondering what it is based on.
We managed to have school sponsered prayer for many years, people arrested for homosexual acts, abortion banned, and never did we become a theocracy. Now we have legal and unlimited abortions, gay marriage will one day soon be an American reality, we have dropped school sponsored prayer, governments, schools, and even the secular establishment have abolished the words Merry Christmas and have replaced them with more benign, less specific references (winterfest, holiday season, etc) A ton of politicians espouse "god" and as long as God is watered down and not too much in the public square its "ok" otherwise some Christians are made to look like hatemongers for having opposing opinions. My question is where is the fear that there is going to be a takeover by the Christian right and a formed theocracy? Is it not clear that Christianity in its true form is just not that popular anymore?

What is up with this rash of really ignorant questions about the church, and doctrine, and now Temple garments?
And do you feel that Mitt Romney's campaign is calling unwanted attention to the church?
Why do think that a small-minded individual gets such a perverted pleasure, out of denigrating a particular religion??
How do you keep your cool when they belittle everything we believe?
How do you handle the misconceptions and downright lies, that these people tell about us.
And do you agree that the adversary is working overtime on yahoo answers????

What do you think, members??

The chosen one, the boy who lived against high odds, the leader of a band of rag-tag disciples, one who refuses the temptation to use the killing curse - and what about the Godric's Hollow war memorial that momentarily transforms into a holy family nativity scene on Christmas Eve?

Fulgens Corona, His Holiness Pope Pius XII
Encyclical Proclaiming a Marian Year
September 8, 1953

18. ... there is nothing "more sweet, nothing dearer than to worship, venerate, invoke and praise with ardent affection the Mother of God conceived without stain of original sin. (quoting Pius IX) ...

See http://www.newadvent.org/library/do...

I could withdraw this as evidence of a direct sanction of Marian worship if anyone can show me from the Latin that hyperdulia and not latria is used here. I have not been able to find the Latin version of this for verification.

I know paragraph 15 tries to head off the Protestant objection that Catholic devotion to Mary subverts the worship due to God. I find the argument lame. He is saying, in principle, we could worship anyone or anything as long as we gave ultimate credit to God, who is the source of all good things, for in so doing we do not cheat Him of His due. Technically, this would apply to the golden calf (Ex 32:5). Oops!

Benjamin Disraeli said: 'Assassination never changed the history of the world.'

But it seems to me that even in the nineteenth century this was hard to believe. (Khartoum is still working out the curse it inherited when the Mahdi murdered General Gordon).

I think Pakistan has probably been under a self-inflicted curse since the murder of Z A Bhutto. A curse which is probably even worse since yesterday.
