The chosen one, the boy who lived against high odds, the leader of a band of rag-tag disciples, one who refuses the temptation to use the killing curse - and what about the Godric's Hollow war memorial that momentarily transforms into a holy family nativity scene on Christmas Eve?

Actually, I saw a book in Barnes and Nobel entitled
"The Gospel according to Harry Potter"

Now personally, I think Harry Potter is a lying little weasel, but this book might help you out with your study...

I love Harry Potter. I think it is an amazing series (at least until she ruined the end of the last book). I think if more people read it, like actually sat down and read the book, they would seriously enjoy it. I have not met one person that has picked the book up, and has been able to put it back down. Considering all of the things that you mentioned, if she had taken Witchcraft out, Christian's wouldn't have a problem with it! In my opinion though, I think it is a the witchcraft and wizardry that makes the book so darned entertaining in the first place. Teaches us all about love and friendship, and again love. Love is the most important thing. I love love love Harry Potter. - Does a happies dance. - I'm actually rereading the series hahaha.sdflksd .

Harry Potter attempted to use the Killing Curse several times. Jo Rowling has stated several times that Harry Potter is not a Christ figure. While there may be some similarities, he is human, and a flawed one at that. Most Christian Doctrines say that Christ was sinless and perfect, and Harry Potter was hardly portrayed as such in the books.

The Christ is not somebody that is reserrected or leader of a band of rag-tag disciples. It wasn't these qualities of Jesus that made Him the Christ. Christ, or the Messiah, is the anointed one. The Son of God who would come down from His heavenly throne to die for our sins so that we may spend eternity with God.

To the same extent that he is Frodo, or Luke Skywalker or Neo or any other number of fictional characters who start out as the underdog and end up the hero. It's a common formula for story telling.

Uh, I would say that the main thing is that he literally "lays down his life for his friends". Greater love has no one than this.

If that's not a Christ-parallel, I don't know what is.

Peace to you.
