It seems like there are more questions directed to Mormons than to anyone else. You don't see that many questions to Baptists or Nazarenes or Methodists. When I typed in this question there were 40 other similar questions. I tried it with Baptists and there was only one similar question. Why are there so many questions directed at Mormons?

You're living a constant guilt trip?

I'm LDS. Sometimes I feel like I can't win. I feel guilty cause I'm sometimes too tired to go to church on Sunday. I feel bad cause I drank some coffee in order to stay awake for my finals. I'm expected to count the amount of time my lips remain on the lips of someone I care about....And if it's 6 seconds(heaven forbid) I'm creating lust and ought to repent....Seriously. The policy is "if it feels good, we encourage you not to do it, and if you feel bad, repent, whether you have anything to feel sorry for or not."

That's what i struggle with. I know this church is true, and I love it for all its flaws. But God would not approve of me walking around feeling like I constantly fail him. Not after Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross to forgive me....

Am i missing something here? Is this what it's all about? Is it all about living guilty and unworthy all the time, even though you're trying your best?

Sometimes I feel like it's not worth it....

I have read a lot recently on this site how God made us as sexual beings only to procreate. I no longer have a uterus due to illness. Does that mean I can or should no longer have sex?

I tend to believe that sharing pleasure is better then hate. I think if we spent more time being less judgemental we could be happier as a community. In my mind I think more people need to have more sex. Maybe that way we wouldn't go around on our high horses.

My best friend passed away 3 years ago, and for her birthday following the accident, I had a star named for her and sent the certificate to her parents. On her birthday this year, a couple of weeks ago, I got a letter from the International Star Registry advertising a new catalog that is coming out "Your Place in the Cosmos" which will be kept in the Library of Congress. It has her name in bold letters, saying it will be included if I pay. Now, I know this is a complete business, and I am not going to buy the catalog. However, I do find it weird that it arrived on the exact day of her birthday.

It seems as if the letter was mailed because this catalog is new, and they just wanted to inform me about it, and I don't think they sent it because it was her birthday.

What do you think? Do you think they mailed it on purpose on her birthday, or do you think it was a complete coincidence? I am slightly spiritual, so if it is a coincidence, I would think more of it.

I have been accused of misrepresenting LDS beliefs. Would an LDS give me short and sweet answers to the following?

(Asked respectfully. Please no diatribes from pro or anti-Mormons. And, please, no scripture quoting; I can read for myself.)

a. Are Jesus and Satan brothers?
b. Is God a deified man?
c. Is there a "Mrs. God"? If so, who is She, and what is Her name? Do you pray to Her?
d. Can an ordinary mortal like myself become a God by doing all the right things?
e. If I don't go to the celestial kingdom when I die, but to one of the other heavens, is that necessarily a bad thing?
f. If I am "sealed" to my parents, what happens when I marry? Is my spouse sealed to my family, especially if already sealed to his/her parents? What if I marry outside of the faith? What if my spouse later divorces me? Do I go back to being sealed to my parents?
g. Many people have claimed revelation from God. What authenticates Joseph Smith's?

Thank you.

I used to be a Pentecostal from a United Pentecostal church in York Nebraska, But I quit, they are toooooo fanatical. My parents were Christains and My minister said they were going to Hell, because they were not pentecostal. I was very irate. No one tells me how to worship God. I do it on my own terms. No churches! That was 20 years ago. I'm no farther away from God now than I was then. I hold some of the things they taught me as true. But not all!

Atheists, what is your opinion. Separation of Church and State? Ought to keep prayer out of campaigns?

I dont think it is a sin. I was raised catholic and nothing in the bible leads me to believe it is wrong. It is pleasurable, helps me release sexual tension, and releases stress. WHy should I conttrol my innate sexual desires just cuz a book says it is wrong?

The holy spirit has no name. It is God's active force to accomplish his will. That's the problem with people who think that the holy spirit is a person. NO where in the scriptures does it indicate a personal force.

Explain factual evidence why, OUTSIDE OF SCRIPTURE (since it has no factual basis to an atheist). Thanks! All answers are very welcome. I am an atheist and do not believe in any supreme being(s), but it still is interesting to see people try and reason with religion, or supernatural beliefs.
