Just because there are tons of christians doesn't make it a christian nation. American law says otherwise.

The founding fathers were not christian but a mix of deists and atheists. So the USA was not based on chrisitianity.

Sorry but a country has to endorse a religion as an official religion to make the country a Christian religion.

I agree with all your comments.
I'm impressed.
To answer your question..............christians believe that the US is a christian country .......BECAUSE OF THE LIES THAT THEY WERE TOLD.
Also most people are lazy and prefer others to do searching for info., believing a lie is easy when someone comes to you and tells you the truth that is hard for a lot of people.

Ask the American Indian who and what America is....... rant all you want to...... the country USA is all things..... but what it is NOT is the White mans land, or anyone elses for that matter........ Founding Fathers ?? the American Indians MIGHT have a little bit different veiw than you or I about just who that was....... God does and will continue to take care of this country, no matter who claims to have *found* it, until such time as He decides not to....... The so called *founding* fathers had and have NOTHING to do with rather we are a Nation of God......... Some , maybe a lot, of the people are Christians, Children of God who LIVE in America!!!!!!!!! and we love having the FREEDOM to worship God !!!! go in peace......... God bless

For many decade the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag had a clause in it. ...." One Nation Under God...". With Christianity being the largest organized religion of those days , many associated loving God with being an American. Also because The United States of America is Suppose to be a safe haven for all faiths, most Christians consider the USA a haven for themselves as well as for other non-violent faiths.

However attacks against Christian believers, Born Again and Pentecostal are as old as American History itself. Since most Christians learn quickly that Persecution comes with being a believer and since non-believers do not care about the constitutional rights of Christians or anyone else except their selfish selves in the first place... the only time most non-believers give lip service to Liberty for others is when it is convenient for themselves.

I don't think it is a Christian Country, at one time it was a Theist country, but even that is not as true as it used to be.

It was founded on the Freedom of Religion though, not the Freedom From Religion.

That is the political problem as I see it: the Christian Right wish to undermine or amend the Constitution to make the United States a Christian country.

Are you crazy, this is a xtain country, with slavery (and it was right because god said so) the death and genocide of entire race (Native Americans and their devil worshiping) A declaration of independence that says even before we were an actual country that says GOD, and of course the pledge and coins added in the 1900's, oh did I mention how well the witch trails went, and of course founded on like 3 of the ten commandments kill, steal, lying and wait of course the right to protect your property is mentioned in the bible a million times, and to commit adultery (horrid sin) oh sorry that one is out. If you seriously thought that you need to relearn about Columbus

Christians have the freedom to choose to be Christians in the USA, for the most part.

Most Christians realize that there are a lot of non Christians in the USA also. But since there is freedom of religion, we don't get killed for our faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, our Lord, Savior & Resurrection.

Because Kent Hovind, Ted Haggard, or someone else currently in jail told them so.

They do not realize that the Bible's God, ruler of the universe, runs counter to the American Constitution. He does not support democracy (He rules; Psalms 2, 89, 110: the King is Yahweh's son), freedom of religion (no other gods allowed) or freedom of speech (no blasphemy).

If the USA really was a Christian nation, it would be a lot more like the Middle East.

It is a Christian nation right now. Not because of the rule of law, but by the silent majority who allow discrimination and bigotry against minority religions and their practicioners

You say that just because a majority of the people here are Christians doesn't make it a Christian country...then what do you think does? A majority of the people in Indonesia are Muslim, do you not consider that a Muslim country? Or the same goes with Malaysia or Morocco? What about Israel and the Jews. I believe its around 75-80% of America who at least SAY they are Christian(doesn't mean they practice it, but if you say you are a Christian then you obviously have some sort of belief in Christianity).
