Just because it feels good or because it is.... convenient...just in case?

Yes, but never more than little white lies, so it's Ok. It's immoral to tell myself big lies, because how would I like it if the tables were turned and I were on the receiving end of those lies instead?

It's more like deceiving ourselves. We can deceive ourselves in so many ways. We can tell ourselves that we are born with a sin we have no power over which is not true. Jesus said you must be born again, meaning to take on the nature of Jesus.

I'm told I do. I tend to be a very negative person who doesn't feel worthy of alot of things I have. I have been told to stop telling myself the lies and accept that I'm not a horrible person. I still feel like a failure though.

No reason to lie to myself. However, if the mood strikes me, others make a very nice target.

Sigh! I lied to myself about eating that STUPID chocolate chip muffin i wish i hadn't! And then lied to myself about getting on the treadmill besides! Sigh!

Quit that! Like I need more guilt.

I may lie to myself, but it doesn't really hold up when things get quiet.

I lie to myself when I eat steak saying the protein will build my muscles.

I have lied to myself before and will probably again. usually trying to make myself feel my situation is better than it is.
everyone has lied to themselves at least once, whether they know they did or not!
