Here are the verses:

Romans 13:1-2
"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves."

These verses specifically tell us to submit to authority as believers. These authorities include local, federal & even the President.....because as stated, these people are appointed by God.

What if the laws of the land shifted against us as Christians? (i.e. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshak & Abednigo) Would this warrant our right to defy the authorities.....even to the point of facing possible death?

Thanks,

Primo

would that mean that God may "feel" more love towards one person than another, or does God love everyone equally.

Scripture references are welcome as long as it stays in tune to the question.

Thank you

The Catholic Bible has books that all other Christians don't have... is there a reason I shouldn't read those? The Catholics came first - and their Bible says its perfect - doesn't that mean my NIV is missing parts of the "real" and complete Bible?

*Can't use the Bible to back yourself up
*Can't use touchy feely crap (ie. "I feel him in me")
*The absence of evidence "against God" is not the evidence of God

Isn't your ultimate goal to be as much like christ as possible? If christ was jewish, shouldn't you conver to judaism? If he wore sandals, shouldn't you wear sandals? If he walked to work, preaching good will to all, shouldn't you walk to work preaching good will to all?

Or are you just giving lip service to christianity? For whatever reason...

If, as Christians claim, Yahweh "hates the sin, but loves the sinner", why is the sinner sent to hell for eternity, and not the sin?

What exactly is the "sin" (meaning it must be some "thing" that can be hated, something at least seemingly temporal, or Satan) that is so hated, and why must the "sinner" have to pay the eternal ultimate price for the sin?

Is there anyone here who can construct some semblance of a rational argument for this trite and empty platitude offered by Christians?

I asked this question just a few moments ago. Please read on.

Stating that all life can and is explained by natural causes acting randomly over time. Therefor there is no need for a creator. No life after death, no ultimate foundations for ethics, no ultimate meaning for life, no free will. The only reason people still believes in such things as ethics, morals and free will, is that people have not yet grasped the full implications of Darwinism.

William Provine, Cornell University.

I have never seen such knee jerk reactions regarding one of your own. Mr. Provine is/was a biologist at Cornell U. He whole heartily embraces Darwin, This is his message to collage students across this nation. Darwin has freed us from such things as ethics and morals, because they are based on the belief in life after death and a creator. Do you people not even know what your side it preaching these days?

They are all one in the same. They are all Abrahamic.
The bible and Qu'ran were written roughly about the same time.

Allah , God, Jehovah, they are all just names of the same God in different languages as even Christians say Allah in the Arabic speaking lands.

The Scriptures prophesy in 2 Peter 3 that in the last days "scoffers" (skeptics and mockers) shall arise encouraging people to turn away from God and walk after their own lusts. Within the last few years there have arisen many atheists, most notably Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris and Daniel Dennett, who are inadvertently fulfilling precisely what this prophecy says. Do you think that this may be a sign that we are indeed in the end times and the activities of these men are ironically a fulfillment of God's prophecy?

I was flicking around the channels and came to the God Channel. Timing was perfect as they were discussing films and half way though they came to the Golden Compass.

The general view was that it shouldn't be seen as the author was a devout atheist.

Do you feel that a film that may not go along with your beliefs should be avoided or should you be able to view other opinions if your belief is strong enough.

I recently went to play Bingo, and got really, really bored... so I decided to call on various dieties and see if any one particular diety responded more frequently than others (yes, I was also having a brandy...).

Guess which diety appears to have blessed me with a bingo?
