Are religious people really as happy as they claim to be? In other words, are all those Christians who are so happy because they have been touched by the Lord genuinely happy or are they faking it?

Like on the Simpsons when Flander's son said "Mrs. Simpson made us happy. And not church happy, real happy."

Lots of people answering questions about Mormons don't actually know much about them, as evidenced by these things I've seen over the last few weeks:

They sell their daughters to the highest bidder. (LohB)

They don;t believe in circumcision. (James) [Personally I think this would be a good thing, but all the same, it isn't true.]

Joseph Smith claimed to be the reincarnation of Jesus (Don't remember who said that)

They believe people are aliens from another planet (don't remember either).

All these things are untrue! I'm a Mormon so I should know. What other stupid things have you seen said about Mormons?

I have come to the conclusion that some R&S atheists don't merely "not believe" that God exists. It seems that many of you have made the conscious decision that regardless of whether or not there actually is a God, you reject Him. Do you feel that is an accurate statement?

I am a worship leader at our church, and this upcoming Sunday we are expecting an excellent turn out. I need some ideas or recommendations on songs to sing, and ways to let the worship flow so everybody can truly feel the anointing of Jesus Christ. I am fairly new to leading worship, and this is my first 'big' Sunday if you know what I mean. Please help me with any possible recommendations at all. It will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and God Bless!!!!

Did you know that the Hail Mary prayer is totally Bible based?

"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed id the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen"

Lets break it down:
1) Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee (direct quote from scripture: Luke 1:28)
2) Blessed are thou among women, and blessed id the fruit of thy womb, Jesus (direct quote from scripture: Luke 1:42)
3) Holy Mary, mother of God (Christ is God incarnete, and since Mary bore God in her womb she is rightly called the Mother of God: "Theotokos", or "God-bearer". Remeber what Elizabeth said: "And how has it happened to me, that the mother of my Lord would come to me?" Luke 1:43)
4) pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen (Revelation 5:8 shows that the saints in heaven do actively intercede for us, and. ....

God may be a plug in most of your eyes, yet wheres your plug? I like how you dismiss all accounts of a God yet you have no plug?

1. Something can't come from nothing
2. Your thermodynamics theory is flawed because it still does not explain what came before the big bang or why it happened? Yes I know people, energy is forever existing...IN THIS universe, yet the universe began to exist, therefore, so did matter and energy. So lets throw that one out.
3. Infinite values do not exist in this reality, only in mathematics are they apparant, not in matter.
4. And God is infinite I know I know people, so your typical rebuttal sounds like, well if there is no infinite values then how does God exist. Again, God is not of this or created in this universe therefore the laws that it abides by dont apply since God is both within and without the bounds of space and time.

All I want is an answer, I gave mine, God. I want yours thats all. If there is no God then how do you exist?

Weather your a believer, an Athiest or Agnostic. Watch this video its only 10 minutes long.

Tell me what you thought of it.

Oh and please don't bother respond if you don't have the patients to spend 10 minutes watching it, because that completly defeats the entire purpose of answering the question.

Other than that all comments welcome, positive or negitiave. Thank you.

I see all kinds of questions asking why atheists are here if we're not religious or spiritual.

But see I don't answer questions about Christianity or anything. I only ask questions that are directly addressed to atheists, or maybe once in awhile a fun or goofy one that has nothing to do with religion but is in this section.

So if there were no questions to atheists I wouldn't be here.

So if you don't want me here why do you keep asking me questions??

Reason I'm asking: yesterday a Buddhist answerer mentioned how Buddha would sometimes not even answer a question because giving any answer would lead people even further astray from the dharma.

I wonder if this applies to us Christians too. Sometimes I run across a question that is so freakin OFF in its very premise. ("If God is all-powerful, can he do something that he can't do while he's not not-doing it?") I wrestle with whether or not I should answer it just to shed, I hope, a little ray of Light in the dark thorny tangle.

What serves a vastly far-afield, off-base person better? Giving an answer he isn't ready for and trusting the Holy Spirit will make it clear to him later ... or not answering at all, letting him work it out on his own, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide him?

Question: Which seems more like a family to you

1) A lone Father and his son, all alone, with no mother, and a bunch af brothers and sisters in some catatonic comatose sleep state
2) A Father AND a loving mother, brothers and sisters who are always celebrating feast days and birthdays, and come together every day to break bread at their Father's table?

The Catechism Of The Catholic Church speaks about the "supernatural appreciation of faith (sensus fidei)" as a "characteristic" of the "body of the faithful". Catholics and protestants can sling Bible quotes all day, but when I put all the scriptures aside for a moment, my "sensus fidei" tells me that number 2 (above), which is the Catholic view of the Church, is far more loving and familial than number 1 (above), which is the barren, stripped down vision of my seperated brothers and sisters, the protestants

So which choice, 1 or 2, seems more like a family to YOU ?

If yes, Would you please help me?

Last night, I was a real "jerk" by being rather mean to "Marie A". I blocked her and sent her an e-mail that false accused her. Today I felt bad, (I was advised she was one of us regulars in the past and was suspended and is just now coming back to Yahoo.) So I unblocked her. Whoops! now I cannot find her e-mail address to send her an apology.

So I was just wondering, would you mind clicking on her 360 page and add her to your friends list, and tell her "Uncle Wayne admits he was a "jerk", and he wants you to forgive him."

Did I ask for a sampling of your ignorance? The man named Jesus did exist, you choose not to follow him as our Lord and Savior. :) Admit it!

Are you just trying to get your opinion out there? Or recruit more atheists or...what? Tell me.
Respectful answers appreciated. No dumb answers, I don't want any reporting...R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
hint: Answering this question by saying that he did not exist is not smart. I am open to choosing atheists who give me a rational answer to be allowed 10 pts! :)

If you answered YES, then your church is NOT the church founded by Jesus Christ.

By its Christ-given authority, the Catholic Church canonized the New Testament in the late 4th century. But Jesus founded His Church in the FIRST century, with Peter as the first pope. Here is a list of popes:
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12272b.htm

So, the Bible is Church based: The Church is not Bible based. Among the Christian churches, only the Catholic Church has existed since the time of Jesus. Every other church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054. The protestant churches were established during the Reformation, which began in 1517. Only the Catholic Church existed in the tenth century, in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by Christ to the apostles, omitting nothing.
