Are religious people really as happy as they claim to be? In other words, are all those Christians who are so happy because they have been touched by the Lord genuinely happy or are they faking it?

Like on the Simpsons when Flander's son said "Mrs. Simpson made us happy. And not church happy, real happy."

Religion gives a false sense of happiness.

Jesus gives a REAL knowledge of what TRUE joy is!

Religion itself is a manmade construct. There is good in taking part in religion, as it gives a sense of structure, unity, community, stability, guidelines, etc. If you are genuine and sincere in your participation of religion, it can give a very real happiness. There are some who don't understand this, and use it for selfish purposes.

Spirituality and a relationship with God, however, is what contributes to true happiness.

NO religion provides real happiness to everyone. People of every denomination are miserable.

"Mysteries, theories, speculations, vain imaginations, perceptions, opinions and beliefs are invented by those you do not know how, why and when life came into existence. Religion is worse than science in its speculative efforts to satisfy the human ego. There is no precept of religion or science that comprehends or properly explains reality-which is things as they were, as they are and as they are to come.
Science is a type of religion, just as religion is a type of science, wherein the mystery of life remains a mystery to those who don't understand it but pretend to."

I believe many are faking it. But I know many are sincere as well. I am a happy person, but I am not happy all the time. I wasn't too happy last night, but I got over it. I firmly believe that our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not our circumstances. But I do know that my deep knowledge in who my Creator is and my spiritual relationship with Him does play a lot into my happiness. I also know my true happiness lies in how honest I am being with myself and therefore, with others.

It goes both ways.
Some people are genuinely happy others arent. I have had people ask me why I'm so happy before. I tell them the truth.

I'm Christian, and I'm genuinely happy.

What's with the recent attack on Christians lately? Why don't you just let people do their own thing without questioning the validity of their feelings, or the source? No one's hurting you.

When a person feels happy...it's real happiness.

It's an emotion, regardless of false premises.

I think many of them have found what they needed in God, and it makes them happy.

I don't know; God didn't fill my void.

Christians a have peace and joy that only God gives and it is unshakable.. It is different from happiness because happiness is an emotion which depends primarily on circumstances.
