I'm a believer-just not in Christianity.
That said, I know many, many Christians. How could I not when my nation is 3/4 Christian? However, I have only known two who practice what they preach, despite knowing dozens. The first is my orthodontist, surprisingly. He displays a Christ-like attitude. The second is my best friend. She has always been devout. Her whole family are fundamentalists, but she is the only one who really practices what she preaches. Her mother, however, is a gossip. Her father cares little for her family, distancing himself at all times. Her sister holds grudges, berates non-believers, and has a bad attitude. My friend is another story. She preaches what she believes to be the truth, but she lets her actions speak for her words and is respectful at all times, loving all.

... What I don't get is what you are trying to prove. Are you trying to dispel the myth that all Christians are hypocrits? Are you trying to "prove" your religion is correct by pointing out Christ-like Christians?

Only one, a neighbor. He is also racist and sexist. It's a strange, cuz basically he is a nice person, but his fundamental Christian outlook has twisted him into feeling that his bigotry is the result of the order in which god put things. He would never hurt anyone and would help everyone, but he just "knows" this is the way things are. He is truer to his beliefs than pretty much anyone else I know. The other Christians I know clearly adapt to their religion in a manner that suits them and not vice versa.

This is part of the reason I have always been interested in religion and spirituality. There are some fascinating case studies of the human condition.

I know that Jesus would never have acted all high and mighty and judgmental against anyone, non believers or not! He did not act better than everyone else because of his wisdom! He did not feel superior because he knew he was going to heaven. He only acted out of love and understanding and loved everyone, including those most people calling themselves "Christians" look down upon! So, NO I don't know ANY Christians that practice what they preach!

If a Christian lives his religion the way it should be lived, he doesn't have to preach. He simply shows by example.

Those who preach usually are not the ones a person should judge Christians by.

I know exactly three Christians who practice what they preach. That's why I'm no longer a Christian.

Yes, but none of them preach like fundies. I've been told by more than one christian cult member that I act more 'christian' than many of the cult members they know. Not sure if I should take that as an insult of a compliment.

Well I must say they do have the zealots that are running about like man men who don't get enough sun light. However I must say the last two times I ran out of gas guess who picked me up and no they were not creepy or trying to sell me anything either. Just doing good deed. It was food for thought for me and should be you as well. It's just like what people say about Jews, blacks etc.

I know alot of Christians, and I do know of one family who practices what I understand to be the principles of Christian faith, though they don't preach. They are lovely people.

I don't know the religion of most of my friends as it is irrelevant to our daily lives. If I knew anyone who preached, trust me they would not be accepted by anyone I know. What they did or did not practice would be entirely up to them.
