It's actually Jews who should be following Christianity. The Book of Matthew is the "bridge" from Judaism to Christianity in history. It's a bridge from the Old Testament.
The first verse of Matthew says: "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham." This indicates the lineage of Jesus.

There are also several books in the OT as well as the Psalms, which are Prophetic, or they indicate the coming of a King, which was Jesus.

As I answered another who asked almost the identical question:

"God wants people to live full, happy, rewarding, and abundant lives; it has nothing what-so-ever to do with being Jewish or Christian. And true religion is not a set of rites practiced robotically, but it is a Way of life.

"Jesus wanted the Jews to act more GODLY, not become Christian -- remember, that word didn't even exist when Jesus was in the flesh."

Jesus (God in the flesh, and may his blessings be upon us) wants all men to live godly lives, as depicted in the Holy Scriptures (which have NOT been changed in any way that is contrary to the will of God), which God gave to the Israelites and entrusted to the Jews, who have preserved them unchanged for over 2600 years.

Jesus came to guide Jews who had erred from the teachings of God, just as Prophet Mohammed came to guide others to the true teaching of God.

Christians do not follow the way of Jews totally as they believe they have erred from the real teachings of God; the same reason Muslims do not follow Christianity or Judism.

I follow the Bible, not a specific religion. I think that religions lead people wrong at times with pushing their own individual ideas of the Bible onto the people. I read the Bible which tells me that God loved us enough to sacrifice the life of His son for our sins. It also tells me that the ONLY way to heaven is through belief in Him...not a religion or by following a religion. It also tells me that if I love Him then I would obey His commandments and hold them dear to my heart...not follow the teachings of a religion. Teaching others about God's love and showing them the way to heaven (by belief in Jesus' sacrifice and that He still lives) is far from being greedy. Jesus was the best and ultimate gift that no one could ever outgrow and belief in Him can only continue to reward you....the more you share His love with others the more you can be blessed.

So, to answer your question, a true Christian (whichever religion they claim) is not greedy if they follow the teachings of Christ and honor God's commands!

God Bless!

If you believe in the God of the Bible (PBUH) then why do you not follow the teachings of the Bible?
If Ishmael and Isaac both came from the loins of Abraham, then why do Muslims hate their Jewish cousins so much?

If Mohhammed said that the Jews and the Christians followed Allah, then why don't the Muslims follow their teachings? Same reasons for both answers.

this is just proof that all religions are 1, just split into groups of different groups. this also shows how racism and the rest of it is pathetic because you end up in some way dirtying what you too believe in. jesus just created another split, a clan if you will that can discuss and follow thier own believes on certain areas of the single religion that we follow a bit of.

Jesus was a neojudaist.
He was against the church sharing economic
roles with the Roman government of Caesar.
The conservative jews were totally against
the separation of church and state.

Jesus fulfilled the law, and now there is a new covenant through him instead of through the blood of sheep and goats
