Yesterday I bought a box containing 20 magnificent " Kensington Pride" Queensland Mangoes for Aus$17.00 at the supermarket. I figure all my Christmas' have come at once.

I know watermelon is in season in a week or so.. and soon it will be Aus $0.50 kg

And I have fresh stone fruit - cherries, peaches, nectarines, delicious apricots.. and grapes... all in season and oversupplied in abundance in the shops. I love this time of year!

What sort of food are you blessed with over Christmas?

My mom is very religious, and I love that about her, but I've lost my faith, in anything. I have been informed I am agnostic. But my mom doesn't know. She still thinks I am a Christain. I'm not mad or anything, it's just I'm a little uncomfortable about it. Should I tell her about my lack of faith, or should I keep her in her little world? I don't want to hurt my mother, please help.

from reading many, many, many answers here, i know that there are many atheists that have read the bible, if for no other reason than to "know thy enemy". & have tried to read the bible to try & gain an understanding of christianity & a stepping stool to learn other religions too (i would like to read as many different "holy books" as possible, & so why not start with what i have right available now). & so i've asked what is the best way to read the bible before, but the answers christians gave, did not sooth my soul, so i will ask the opinion of those who do not care much about the scripture how to read it.

I seem to get more thumbs down when I mention in answers that the Christ of the Bible fed the hungry, healed the sick and spoke out against the oppression of both the political and the religious authorities.

Why is that?

what do think?
Live in peace forever or live in combat forever?
I think living in perfect peace sounds boring, life is entireley based on conflict. No one wants to read a book with no conflict, who wants to live an after without one? That's just my opinion. how about you,
Valhala or Heaven

Are you to give charity through your mosque or other Muslim charities, or do you discharge the obligation of charity any time you help a person, such as giving food to a homeless person? I guess I'm wondering if there is a specific structure to your charity. Thank you.

She insists no and does not give me a chance to be a father. She is not bad in other ways so I'm not searchnig divorce yet. I would like to know if I make her rise children together but is this action haraam. I'm very confused, looking forward to your advice. Thanks

Why is it so hard to accept or comprehend the idea that Jesus was very likely married with kids of his own? In those days, in that culture, it was unheard of for a man of his age to be single. Even his disciples were married. Just because it's not mentioned in the Bible doesn't mean anything. There is a whole 17-18 yr gap of his life where nothing is mentioned. Did he not do anything at all during that period?

ok so I am not a follower/believer of Jesus but catholicism really interests me. So I am wondering
what it means to “see” Jesus as a Teacher.
is there any way to prove how Jesus “teaches” us/his followers how to live their lives thru Gospel verses, if so can you please tell me wich ones? After each verse, since I may not know what it means can u please give a brief response as to what is meant by this Gospel message. Thanks and may god bless your souls!

as always, i'm not trying to mock atheism. if anything, this is just a fun thing to wonder about because almost every belief has a interesting ending, take for example Ragnarök of Nordic Mythology:

People say I'm being illogical for trying to find an escape from this prison called "Earth". I don't mean another planet. I just mean, this is Hell. Nothing means anything. We amount to nothing, all we do today is gone tomorrow. When the world dies and it will, nothing will remain. All for nothing. Why? For being a mistake? God's mistake? He doesn't want to admit it so he gives Earth to the devil to use as he wills. For what to play with us, pushing us in different directions which lead nowhere. All we can do is enjoy our time here? I refuse to believe I'm nothing more than a prisoner inside a living conundrum with endless delusions which don't exist. I want to wake up, but I can't. This life isn't real. This life isn't real. I promise you will one day learn this life isn't real.

Call me what you will, I'm writing a book and I'm going to publish it before I die. Everyone will learn the truth which I have found within this labyrinth called Earth.

I promise someone will solve it.

Many Christian biblical scholars agree that Mary, mother of Jesus, was approximately 12 or 13. Doesn't this make their God a paedophile by modern standards of morals and ethics? If not, why is Muhammed derided as such?

Furthermore, should people on R&S only be allowed to *ask* questions pertaining to their own religion? If so, then a lot of people on here should just STFU already since they obviously have no idea what they're asking about. If not, then why do you think that so many people jump to conclusions about a person's religion based on the questions one asks?
