Why is it so hard to accept or comprehend the idea that Jesus was very likely married with kids of his own? In those days, in that culture, it was unheard of for a man of his age to be single. Even his disciples were married. Just because it's not mentioned in the Bible doesn't mean anything. There is a whole 17-18 yr gap of his life where nothing is mentioned. Did he not do anything at all during that period?

And no I didn't see or read the DaVinci Code since neither interested me.

If he did something that caused him to be a social outcast (example being not marrying after a certain age that the culture dictates), no one would want to pay any attention to him, much less give him any regard as a prophet or teacher. And he wouldn't have near the following that he did even after his death. And as a social outcast, he certainly would not be considered significant enough to be included in secular historical texts of the time, which he was.

Even back then, folks like the disciples cared what others thought about themselves, so they would definitely think twice about following in the footsteps of an outcast.

I agree, there's a lot about his life that we do not know about. Christians have chosen to believe what was written many years after his death and even that which was written by 'hearsayers.' Religious dogmas have reached the point that even if an ancient manuscript was found written by Jesus himself Christians would not believe it.

Jews today are the descendents of the ancient Hebrews. Their religion is intertwined with the Jewish culture. Their history is outlined in the Old Testament of the Bible. The first five books of the Old Testament are known as The Torah, or the laws of the Hebrew people, yet there is also a lot of guidance offered in the books of the prophets. Deuteronomy 7:6–“The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.”

Jews believe in the one, true God. They also believe that man is born neither good nor evil. Instead, they believe people have a choice whether or not to choose sin. Jews also believe that a person can be saved by embracing the one, true God and by living a moral life. Deuteronomy 6:4 – “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”

How is Christianity Different?: While Christianity has its roots in the Old Testament, there are several important differences between Christians and Jews. First, Jews believe that there is one, true God, while Christians believe in God as part of a Holy Trinity (the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost). Christians believe that man is born a sinner and will never quite be up to the standard God has set.

Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah who died to atone for the world’s sins. Jews dismiss Jesus as the Messiah, because they feel that his claims of being divine and failing to deliver Israel from oppression mean he was only a prophet or a teacher. Therefore Christians believe that salvation comes from faith and Christ’s dying on the cross. Mark 10:45 – “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

What About Messianic Jews?: While most Jews dismiss Jesus Christ as Messiah, Messianic Jews believe that Jesus is the Messiah. It used to be that a Jew that accepted Jesus Christ as Messiah would have to leave the synagogue and join a gentile (a non-jewish) church. The acceptance of Jesus was thought to be a betrayal of the faith. Today, though, there are 350 Messianic congregations worldwide. They believe in Jesus but retain their Jewish traditions and practices.

I'm glad you didn't see The DaVinci Code. I know DaVinci was a genius, but all these secret clues he left were in modern English! American English!

I agree with you. I also read an article that suggested Mary Magdalene was from Ethiopia.

I wish I could spell that hot porno background music.

People wake up!
Jesus remained single for a reason.
That reason so he could redeem and save those who would put faith in him and become his spiritual children.
There where thousends of people who witnessed Jesus life and he remained faith full to His Father to the very end.
Be glad and rejoice.
Ridicule rs,beware!
He who rejects the Son also rejects the Father.
Jesus is now a King.
All powers in heaven and earth has been given him by His Father.
He is also judge and executioner.
So turn around and repent, for He is mild tempered and lowly in hearth.

Everything you point out is correct except one thing. The Bible specifically tells us Jesus was indeed a celibate man. As such, he couldn't have been married or had kids.

Yes, it would have been very abnormal for Jesus not to be married. And even if you buy the god's son thing (and Jesus himself never claimed to be divine), if god wanted his son to live as a human, why deny him a normal human experience?

Just because it was culturally appropriate for him to marry doesn't prove he was. I'm not Christian but I have an academic problem with people claiming Jesus's marriage as fact when there is no evidence supporting the claim.

Who is saying that is difficult to accept? I'm open to that and I'm a Christian. It wouldn't change anything.
