you know like the person who wrote Matthew refers to the Jews as "the hypocrites." Don't get me wrong hypocrites is a perfect label for them, but I'm not really into plagiarizing material which has been plagiarized from other ancient myths. Any ideas?

When a user asks a question whose premises are misguided, do you believe that it is better to:
a) answer the question to the best of your ability, or
b) to point out that (YOU BELIEVE THAT) the question is misguided?

Why? Which answer do you believe is more beneficial to the user who posted the question?

An example of a question that may be commonly labeled as misguided is:

-How did the Big Bang happen? (assumptions: God didn't create the universe, etc.)

I mean, we get blamed for getting thrown out of paradise, we have to suffer childbirth (yet men get nothing but pleasure out of the whole deal), we get stoned if we do anything wrong in the marriage, Noah's wife doesn't even get to have her name in the bible, we get periods and can't even be touched during that week every month w/out making a guy be all dirty (unless he sacrafices some stuff - and hey - guys are a lot dirtier than girls most the time)... I mean, what's the deal? The only person who wants every women punished more than God is this guy I know who had massive mommy issues.

I was thinking about this recently. What if he's truly repenting in Hell? And God won't forgive him because he expected him to be perfect because he was an angel? Maybe he's just angry at God because God won't let him have free will like mankind. Maybe that's why he has a grudge against mankind because we are forgiven by God so easily.

Lucifer was a loving, powerful archangel once. Are we really supposed to believe that he has lost all of the good in his being?

If he is, then why on Earth would everyone be born with a 'sin nature' into a 'fallen world'? Honestly, does that make sense?

So why should I give Jesus credit if I wasn't born back then? He didn't die for Asians, Blacks, Native Americans, and etc. He just died for Jews and Caucasians who crucified him. The groups I named didn't even know he existed at that time. So you can't claim that he died for my ancestors so that I could be born.

Also how is God just if he vents his anger? He banished angels who pleaded for Lucifer, did he not? Also he allows bad people to go to heaven if they repent while good people who live honest lives go to hell. Thats really just. God should appreciate those who do good for others other than worshiping him. Its selfish, he should have people thank him when they meet.

So enlighten me.

Veneration is different than worship; all Christians are to worship the Lord God and the Lord God alone.
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” –Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (and Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27)

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – one God do we worship:
“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” (1 John 5:7)

= = =

Catholics venerate Mary. (Some take it “too far” by worshipping her...)
Does not the scripture declare that “henceforth all generations will call [Mary] blessed”? (Luke 1:48)

Don’t some Protestants likewise venerate Paul, Calvin, Wesley, Luther, John Piper, or their mentor or current pastor?

Is all such “veneration” wrong? Do you honor your elders? Your mentors? Do you have deep respect them?
Does “veneration” go to far? Does it imply worship?

Has anyone heard the rumour that a certain group of Maoris in the Kaitaia region of Northland , New Zealand, are in possession of the Ark of the Covenant? I know it sounds very far fetched and unlikely that such a group would have it.....but who knows.

My mom and I want to go to a good church to get more in touch with God and I wanna make some friends, too. We are Christian. My mom has the problem with the so called "christians", who relate all their problems to "I'm sorry, im trying to be a good christian". Weve had alot of trouble with this. Its hard to explain. So I need your help?

1) Is it allright to 'church hop'?
2) How do we go about finding a church for us?

For all of those skeptics about the existence of a creator here's scientific proof. All you need is one question....How was the universe created/ formed? There are only three scientific possibilitys 1) It has alway existed and always will. 2) It created itself out of nothing. (which could support the big bang theory) or 3) It was created. Scientific law says that neither matter nor energy can be made nor destroyed. Its simply put into another form of matter or energy. Thats a fact. Therefor the universe could not have always existed because matter/energy can not be made or destroyed. The universe had to be made somehow. The same princible means that the universe can not make itself out of nothing. Therfor the universe did not make itself. There is only one other possibility, I'm not saying that the christian god is the creator. But something definatly created us and the universe. Do you believe this is suffeciant proof.

By being told that there are rewards in Heaven; whenever I do something good, it crosses my mind that I'm doing it for rewards.

I wish I'd of never been told that.

I'm serious here...I'm not trying to piss anyone off (which would be ironic)...after careful inward examination, do you (the antagonistic atheist) think there are things or events in your life that have driven you to be so angry towards people that disagree with you?

...don't you think atheists come here to take a breather from answering truly difficult/mind-boggling questions such as those from
"Arts & Humanities"
"Business & Finance"
"Education & Reference"
"Social Science"
and "News & Events"

because once in a while, you can actually answer a question without being wrong or right.

So do true bible-followers shun works of evil like business and science? If not, are they pure Christian? Also, if not, can they answer those other questions too?
