Being agnostic myself I could never really understand how atheists came to terms with the afterlife and death in general. But after reading this beautifully written article I'm starting to make sense of it all. I thought his writing brought tremendous insight to the beliefs of atheists. But I understand that it would be a tremendous generalization to say that this one man's thoughts are shared with every other atheist.

Atheists, would it be a stretch to say that most atheists feel the same? And theists whats your reaction to his response to such a crisis? In accordance with your beliefs, does his reaction appear sensible? or simply cold hearted?

How can people so educated believe in something so "made up" when science and nature are right in front of us making so much sense. We are part of the animal kingdom, not children of a "god"

Personally I like Mike Huckabee. As I answered in an earlier question, "I am voting for him because of his views and because he is Christian. He does not revere himself as "doing Gods work." He just uses some of his views to help guide him. But in the case of major decisions like war etc., etc., Christian views will not effect his actions." You?

How do you prayerfully attend to a season of waiting, when your world is so rushed? How do you come to fully appreciate the birth of Christ while focusing on material things? Christmas is such a decadent holiday, it seems to be the culmination of everything that's wrong with Christianity. How do you make it right between you and God?

I've always been curious what it's REALLY about. I heard it was a really strange religion and now I'd like to find out the truth. I'm not thinking of converting or anything, I'd just like to know for my own knowledge.

Have you ever found yourself at this crossroads? Does the majority rule here or does the individual? Then what happens when the majority becomes a mob or the individual becomes a threat?
Which way leads to captivity and which way leads to freedom? Is 'compromise' ever ok?
Like what? How come?

When humans create artificial intelligence we will become inferior to it. We will be the "God's" of A. I.

If the universe itself is regarded as being "God" then it is inferior because it just made us by creating heavy atoms via nuclear fusion with stars and chemical reactions to create polymers, but never knew it existed since it has no mind. Of course the universe is NOT inferior in many other regards besides self awareness (or so we think). BUT humans are the universe itself too since we are made out of its material therefore the universe is after all aware of itself.

The universe DOESN'T KNOW what the hell it is though since we don't beyond an empirical painting.

Who or what are these things and WHY do we need them for our circles? What purpose do they serve? How do they fit in with God/Goddess in our worship?

I know that these are the most basic of questions and it seems like a royal pain having to answer these trivial questions. However, these are things that non-pagans tend to be curious about and whne we just brush them off they feel as though we don't REALLY understand what it is that we are doing. They need to see and understand that we take ourt beliefs seriously, that we're not just following a silly fad and that our Religious practices are just as valid as theirs.

Ive always been fansinated with people defying gravity and phyicis and i was reading on eastern religons about chakras and came up with my own working tecnique of walking on water all you need is faith .

1 Open up all your chakras for information on how visit (http://www.crystalinks.com/chakras.html)

2 You can do this on your bath fill the bath tup up 75 percent up the way and lie down in it

3 Close your eyes and Say "I am not condemed to the laws of gravity" Ten times or more untill you really belive it

4 I am water water is me i am like water repeat ten times

open your eyes and stand up stand in a balanced way so you can begin you can walk on water by distributing weight in such a way that surface tension does not break, there will be sufficient buoyancy to avoid sinking below the surface

5 jump up and you will be standing on the water
9 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer.

I know the tecnique does work if you have your chakras open and belive.

What many non-pagans want to know is why do many of us have to cast a circle everytime that we wish to do one of our rituals? Why not just have a church or a specific "sacred" place that we use ALL the time? They have noticed that we seldom use the same place everytime we worship and are curious as to why?

I know that there are many types of circles and they are ALL sacred spaces BUT they do not understand our need for this and this is one question that I have been asked numerous times by non-pagans. Please be as specific as possible.

Recently I posted a prayer request. I suffer with anxiety and agoraphobia. It has been debilitating for me, and I have since suffered with toothaches avoiding the dentist. I am scheduled for a root canal on Friday at 12:30. I have been praying consistantly and I want to tell you all that your prayers have also been helping. I prayed for a later date in the week last weekend because the only available apmt at that time was Tuesday and I need my boyfriend to be with me, and this day is difficult for him, and for me. On MONDAY morning, the dentist called with an opening on Friday, which gives us both alot of time to prepare. I had several signs that had the word, "Miracle" in them over the weekend... laughing in my head saying, "Yeah right", and sure enough, God answered my prayer on Monday. Nothing is more encouraging then answered prayers. Please pray for me again, that I am calm, brave and content in the dental chair, and before hand, in Jesus name. I never believed in anything more.
