Selflessly go out of their way to help another.

Not one blessed thing. My respect is given to those who show consistent care and concern for others over a long period of time.

Anybody can be a "one day wonder" and do something nice once, but only those who show what I think of as everyday grace are going to earn my respect.

Nobody can "instantly" earn my respect. It takes a little while.

I don't know if there's any one thing you can do to earn someone's respect... I think it's more of a long-term process. Well, I suppose that's how it is for me; it's probably different for others.

Nothing. I don't think like most people do, and I'll get a lot of thumbs down for this, but I will give anyone my respect and trust until they prove to me that they aren't worthy of either.

You don't earn my respect, you lose it. But I also tend to give second and third chances, so it takes a lot for me to lose my respect --or trust-- in someone.

Tell the truth about something that is difficult or shameful to admit.

Give up something to help others.

Speak to a stranger instead of ignoring people around them.

Forgive someone with utmost sincerity ~ I mean really truly from the heart and with a warm smile on their face.

Demonstrate their honesty in some tangible way. There are very few who have earned my respect.

Earning my respect is not necessary.

I give respect instantly.

Personally I find honesty to be the highest human virtue, even if that person hates me and wants to kill me.

If he's honest about it, I can respect that.
