Mary - Tradition holds that she was a prostitute, but as far as the Bible goes it is silent. It does say that she had seven demons though, Luke 8:2.

Born gay - Romans 1:24-27 calls it unnatural. Hard for a natural birth to produce something unnatural. In addition if one was born that way, it would be God who made them gay.

Producers - Not a clue. That movie though doesn't seem like something Christians would make. Matthew 7:16

Percentile - Again no clue. Difference surveys say different things. Add to that those who claim they are Christian and are not. Matthew 7:21-23.

- Personally, I do not believe that anyone is born gay. It doesn't fit with scripture that one can be born in a way that he or she has to sin. We all have the choice to sin or not. It is up to us when we are faced with temptation, not nature. 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Mary Magdalene: Yes, at least according to church tradition. But, after the Lord healed her from a legion of demons, she became a follower of Him and then vowed chastity.

Gays: Yes, the Bible doesn't say that gays are not born gay. But then, neither does it say that they are! An argument from silence is no logical argument at all. However, the Bible makes it clear that living a gay lifestyle is a choice that is not God's will for anyone, as well as heterosexual cohabitation and fornication, bisexuality or transgenderism (Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 1 Timothy 1:10). Not only that, but the Bible also states that people during the New Testament age who did choose to live a gay lifestyle, found freedom and change from their same sex attractions, after coming to Christ and being committed to the church fellowship in the city of Corinth, Greece. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, it states that gay sex is condemned along with a list of other sinful acts (verse 9), and in verse 11, those who once were gay, the author of this letter, the Apostle Paul then says, "...and that is what some of you were." I was living a gay lifestyle before coming to Christ, and after many years of experiencing growth in my faith, that is no longer a major issue in my life, and I never thought that I'd say it, but now I am open to the possibility of marrying!

Btw, contrary to what you have heard through the mantras of propaganda, scientific research has shown that noone is born gay either. Bailey and Pillard's identical twin studies in the 90's indicate that environmental influences are predominant, if not exclusive. Even Hamer and LeVay had to admit this to be the case; and, on top of this, all these researchers do self-identify as gay! Then, there's the scientific research studies indicating that gays can and do experience sexual orientation change (Spitzer, 1999 and Jones and Yarhouse, 2007). So, if gays do experience change, this is a clear indication that they couldn't possibly be born that way.

Brokeback Mountain: It was not produced by Christians, as far as I know. I don't see how that could be the case, given the clear social commentary and message.

Percentage of Americans that are Christian: Well, 92% come from church backgrounds, 77% state that the Bible contains the Word of God for them, and approximately 40% have stated that they rely on Christ Jesus for their salvation, and not works, or good deeds.

I guess I already answered your last Q, right?

Oh, I see you added another Q. Well, Jesus was accused of "eating with sinnners", so I'm sure he did. Unfortunately, those who did accuse him of doing so did not understand that all humanity is sinful, and is also of sacred value to God, no matter what kind of flavor sin they choose!

1) Mary Magdalene was posessed by seven demons. There's no Biblical indication she had been a prostitute. (Luke 8:2)

2) The Bible says nothing about people being born gay. It does make it quite clear on how God feels about homosexuality though. (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10)

3) I have no idea what the producers of Brokeback Mountain claim to be.

4) I also have no idea what percentage of the US claims to be Christian. It doesn't really matter, since most of them aren't really Christian.

5) Homosexual tendencies can come from hormonal imbalances, and/or can be the result of negative life experiences.

No Mary Magdalen was not a prostitute, this was an inference made by Pope Gregory (I think that is his name) he believed that a prostitute mentioned before Mary's first appearance in the bible were the same person. There is not a connection in the two. Look this up in the bible and talk to God about it. Many people interpret the bible differently. My opinion is that you talk to God about your questions and read the bible. God will tell you the answers to your questions. I do however want to tell you about one of my experiences. I was reading the bible one night and decided that God did not like women and he was a male chauvinist (yea I should have been in trouble) but instead God woke me up at 4:00am, and if you knew me that is a miracle in itself. I could not go back to sleep no matter what I tried so I turned on the tv and saw an amazing show about the great women that God chose to help Jesus and led his people. Many times over the years men (not of God) have made the bible fit their beliefs. Thus Mary the prostitute.

There is no evidence that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. Actually, She was freed of seven demons, but other than that she was a lady of means who helped support Christs Ministry.

As far as gays are concerned, - see the story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the laws forbidding a man to lie with another man as with a woman, a woman with a woman, and a woman presenting herself to an animal; The Greek in the New Testament and Revelation and the Hebrew in the Old Testament is quite graphic - But the translators of the Bible didn't choose to be Quite as graphic as it no doubt offended their own sensibilities.

No she was not. Mary Magdalene was demon possessed.

and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,

Broke-back mountain producer were Michael Costigan, Michael Hausman, Larry McMurtry I have no knowledge of their religions.

Homosexuality is called a sexual sin in the bible..not a birth defect.
Realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching

The word "prostitute" as it may be used in the Bible did not have the same meaning then as it does now. Women in the Bible had to have a husband or son accompany them in public, and if a woman did not have a husband, son or any other appropriate male escort, then she was refered to as a prostitute. So, Mary Magdelene may have been a prosititute, but nothing like the prostitutes or "street-walkers" etc of today.

the Bible doesn't say that Mary Magdeline was a prostitute..

Romans 1 explains that when people experiment with homosexuality, they are given over to that way of thinking...

I don't believe they are born that way...I do believe that some think that...I attribure it to spiritual warfare...I however, could be wrong...

btw...its not an abomination to be a homosexual; its an abomination to commit homosexual acts...

Just like its my nature to want to punch someone for cutting me off in traffic....its my nature, doesn't make it right.....

No, Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute. She was a woman from whom Jesus cast seven demons.

Luke 8:2: . . . and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out.

No one is born homosexual, i.e., designed for sex with same-sex partners.

Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number."

You don't "increase in number" by abusing the sexual reproductive system in dangerous, unnatural, immoral activities, but by marriage, designed to protect and nourish human young through a prolonged period of maturation.

No, the producers of homosexual propaganda movies are not Christians. The percentage of Christians is about 80%.

God designed us to know him, love him, and serve him, and he condemned all sexual immorality, which makes a man unclean:

Matt 15:19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man 'unclean.'

For more information on why people learn to be homosexual, see Romans 1: "Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."

Bruce
