Dare to be different ... regardless of the consequences ...
Rush to do it.
Hello my dear Sunman. Had to answer. It is the greatest question of all. Never ever compromise. Ever. Be yourself ... it is your truth, and the truth is what sets us free.
Love you; miss you madly. Farewell again.....til the next question that demands that I answer! My best to all the cosmic crew.
((((((cosmic appearances))))))
EDIT: (((Raji))) Brightest blessings to you, my sweet green witch!!! I actually sort of got a life ... not much of one this time of year (I am in retail....), but it is good. Addiction to the forum was hard to break, but necessary. I miss you too! Love to all, esp. Rae.

I usually say that the right answer is somewhere in the middle, but when at a crossroads I say listen to Robert Frost and take the road less traveled which is not the trampled path of the mob. Freedom is a state of mind and a state of being. If the individual is a threat, first you should ask how and to who. Are you a threat to the establishment like Jesus, Gandhi, or MLK Jr. or are you a murder because those are completely different types of threat.

Ah, it would break my heart to conform. Freedom is to live as me, as I am. When the individual becomes a threat? Then what? One continues without them. Captivity is not an option. There is no air in there. I do not condone compromise either. It always ends in tears for someone. Freedom comes from trusting one's own inner promptings...the inner voice of intuition...for it is given to each one to be the way that supports the soul path. I have too many stories of being at the crossroads, and of taking my own path. So many who have chosen not to be with me because of my fixed gaze. Yes, I have suffered too, but the path has brought to light such wonders that heal my heart and buoy my soul. I wouldn't change any of it, and shall continue on. I am here but this last time, and every moment belongs embedded within.

Freedom is chosen by the individual, There is never a compromise and can never be a compromise. The majority is made up by a few whom have led or misled others through fear, belief in justice, needing to be led, promises be them false or good intentions. No one knows how they will truly stand until they too have come to a crossroad. Keeping this in mind- there are many forms of crossroads. An each crossroad carries a different toll. If you believe in yourself it is better to be cast out and stand alone then to follow out of fear.

There's no reason anyone *should* conform to gender roles. But if someone likes being in a stereotypical gender role, they shouldn't have people telling them it's wrong, or looking down on them. They should be free to decide. Some people like gender roles, others don't. Saying it's wrong or it should be a thing of the past isn't a realistic way to look at it. We can't blur the lines between male and female because males and females are innately different. Anyone who swaggers into the workplace will be ridiculed. That's because it looks silly, not because they're male or female.

me=non-conformist ; as far as the religion goes.
What is conformism?
Ans.=Make money , marry , have children. This is all about the meaning of life.
However the non-conformist looks at this as repugnant , he wants to look forward than merely live like an animal. Ok, just because everyone can read, write, speak and think and so calls himself/herself human , a better species than animals.
But lets stop awhile and think , animals also live for food, sex & family. So in essence , how are we better than them, just because we can afford a car and a carpeted house. Look , a cat also enjoys that.
Some become disillusioned with this regime of so called conformism. And from these, some look beyond , deep into the consciousness , try to fathom the depths of silence , rise up so high that they shine like the sun and give their gentle blessings to all. They set the high standards for all humanity to follow so that they can also rise up from the wild & violent animal nature , become kind , gentle and worthy to be called as human.

I am at a crossroads right now...and, of course, I must sense what is revealed from within as to the direction that will be taken. The mob to which you refer, though appearing greater in number, is least in value due to the chaotic, frenzied thinking that rouses them to their fury. The mob is ego-driven and captive to its impermanent and shifting "rule," while I am freed from the constraints of mass thinking (mass hysteria). To step outside the envelope is to gain a greater view. Of course, this is a threat to the many who follow, lemming-like, to their demise. Compromise is a dead word...it implies "with promise," something pending and unfinished. Only in being true to one's inner guidance will effective solutions be enacted. Anything else is stagnation (stag
nation...hmmmmmm, where could we go with this?) or retrogression. The proof, once again, is in the pudding; whose pudding do you want to eat...that which you know or that which is forced upon you? My own pudding will do quite nicely, thank you. I know my heart; I cannot know another's, let alone the hearts of many at once. Conformity is a straight-jacket that binds and terminates the life force within. The casting out is a setting free. I am Sirius

The difference between mob-rule and true democracy is that in a democracy the rights of the minority are preserved and respected, even and especially against the will of the majority. That, I think, is the key between freedom and oppression. Believe what you want, say what you want, do what you want - even as a community - but only insofar as you don't violate the basic human rights of others, no matter how much of a minority they may be.
Peace to you.

I'd rather be cast out than conform. Life is loaded with more fun this way. And I refuse to compromise. I'm a Druid and proud of it, and if someone has a problem with it, they have the ability to turn themselves around and walk away. No one should have to make the "Conform or be cast out" decision, but if it has to be made, would you rather be a product of the machine, or a voice in the crowd?

For most of those I have known that have been anything close to the path I walk, well we were cast out, disregarded, or threatened a long time ago. At the time of it's happening we tended to be children in the process, so our choice or modes of our seeming rebellion were poorly thought out. Yet, as we matured we learned to work within society, quietly blending in enough to function, lending our voices in veiled phrases to attract those who were ready to begin themselves. The universe has a way of sending those you need & those who need you, it is just how it works.
Privately, we rushed in. The more we add to ourselves, the stronger & wiser we become.
Compromise? Never, I may not speak openly to all I know would just challenege, it would be a fundamental waste of time & energy, but that is not compromise, it just smart. Why throw your pearls before the swine. My energy & strength come from adding myself to others who are single minded, not from resisting others who are just not ready yet. Yet is the operative word here!
Oh my, well Blessings Yall!

The individual rules. In time, the mob that may have formed will have long forgotten and moved on to attack someone else. You should never compromise what is in your heart!
