We have different versions of the bible....(example, King James, Duay Rheims, New Living Translation) They vary based on the transcripts from where the interpretation came from....is that the case with the Qur'an? If I wanted to purchase one for my own personal studies, is there an official version I would need to reference? And again, I am a Christian and I believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the Life,...and no one comes to the Father except through Him. So please my fellow Christians, do not try to save me. Christ has already done that. I am only asking this to further my knowledge and help me relate the gospel message through Christ. Only knowledgable answers please and please omit unnecessary comments. Thank you all! I appreciate it.

Someone asked an innocent question the other day about foods we don't like and I got multiple thumbs down for saying I don't like egg custard. Is this something the egg-custard intolerant of R&S need to worry about? Am I the only egg custard hater?

I don't want their peace that passeth all understanding.
I want understanding that brings true and lasting peace.

I don't want their Peace and Safety in Law worketh Wrath.
For God hath not appointed us unto (Law worketh) Wrath.

What sort of Peace do you want?

Gods word the Bible says:

Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

No matter who we are, we are all sinful, even Chrisitans, none of us are perfect. Nothing we could ever do could earn us right standing with God.

John 3: 16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[f] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

God does not want to condemn or judge you, he wants to be your friend, he wants you to know the immense love he has for you. So since we could not pay the price for our wrongdoing, he paid it for us by sacrificing his own son.

Luke 5:32
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

1 Timothy 1:16
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on

This is a serious question, and I'm not trying to be disrespectful, it just crossed my mind today and though I'd ask, it has me curious. If you have any verses that can clarify I'd appreciate it - I don't have time to sit and look for them right now, because I'm supposed to be cleaning my house. :) Thanks!

I am a weak atheist mostly, I can tolerate others religions as long as they don't attack me for being atheist, and then its on. However, I am the only atheist in my family. I told my dad, that when he brings his family over to my house for dinner, that I don't want his family and him reciting their prayers outloud in my house. I am an atheist and therefore my house is atheistic. I told him they they are welcome to say it to themselves in their head but I don't want a prayer spoken aloud in my house? Am I being wrong for doing this? It's my house and therefore, its my rules.

Humans can experience sadness, happiness, anger, surprise, disgust, fear, neutrality - in Heaven you *only* feel happiness. As humans, how can we live with only one emotion for ETERNITY? Then we're just happy drone freaks forever and ever. Which in and of itself is suffering. Can't you realize that Heaven is actually Hell?

What if right after Hitler took poison and it started to affect him to the point of no return, he started repenting and asking God for forgiveness for all that he had done which was a sin, would that mean that he is in heaven now?
