Because Christianity isn't about our perfection. Anyone who thinks that Christians see themselves as perfect is way off. It's about Christ's perfection. Our imperfection just shows that we need a Savior all the more.

I don't think God would do that. Some Christians cling to a few scattered Bible verses that support that viewpoint, and I have no biblical proof for my viewpoint. I can't prove them wrong so they think they are right--it's a bit silly but some churches think they know all the answers about God and refuse to admit that there is anything mysterious or unexplained about Him at all. If you think the human mind is incapable of contemplating and comprehending the soul, then I'm sorry for you. If you were born with some deficiency that prevents you from doing so, I think God will take that into account when deciding whose side you are on, the same way he would for a retarded person. It doesn't excuse you. Your pride in your own opinion does not excuse you either. Since you added a bit about "french law", you may have been born without the ability to comprehend the abstract, since you can't seem to follow a simple analogy. If that is the case, God will show you and if you still refuse to open your eyes and see it, then you'll be judged.

If Christians became perfect...
1.) Then Jesus would no longer have been unique.
2.) Then we would no longer be able to distinguish perfect God from imperfect man therefore diminishing God in our sight.
3.) If Christians were perfect there would be a "them and us" paradigm set up. As it is non Christians can easily see that God's gift is for all of us and there is none better than the other.
4.) Not becoming perfect prevents Christians from developing massive egos. Look at Paul's thorn in the flesh, kept there by God to keep him humble.

good question... made me stop to think...... in a way, that is the point, of course Adam was perfect.... at the beginning..... I think we are left imperfect, as you say, so the world, even the Christian, will see that when a miracle does happen or something supernatural, it will be *known* no questions ask, that it was God who stepped in..... that is the theme all through the Bible also...... I am sure there are and is more to this, but I myself do not have the words for it all.... go in peace....... God bless

We cannot be perfect, it is simple life that creates imperfection. a small lie hear an unspoken nice word thier. It all leads to imperfection.
It is through the imperfections that we have that shows the strength and love of God in our lives. If we as christians were perfect we would be unable to go into the world and touch those who are imperfect, they would run from us as the darkness runs from the light.
Just my two-cents.

He wont forever. The Bible actually teaches about a time when loyal ones will be restored to perfection but that is yet to come. For the moment we all have to deal with the imperfections that come with being human.

If God made us perfect, then there would be no reason to put us on earth. Just set us in heaven and surround us with angels. Besides how would he determine who is going to be a believer or who is not. Besides which is the correct religion. South Park says that the answer is Morman.

Flesh and Blood is imperfect. We are to overcome the flesh with the spirit. This is a hard process. It takes dedication, devotion, and sacrifice. And we can't do it on our own. The bible says that we are to crucify the flesh. It also says that for Him (God) to increase, we must decrease.

It's not imperfection, it's free will. We have the ability to choose, whether right or wrong, and the to correct what we have done (in some cases). Sometimes our failures make us stronger individuals and makes our faith stronger. It also allows us to be forgiven. Besides to be perfect would be boring.

I'm an "unbeliever" and I'm not at war with you. It's that "us" versus "them" thinking that causes the problem in the first place.
Since you all started the war against those of other beliefs.. particulary of indigenous cultures and peoples.. perhaps you should take that beam out of your own eye first.
